hmm yah but idont know of any clans and i dont know how to go creating a clan,
Try IRC channels shown on 6v6 Cup thread you could also ask leaders directly but as far as I know only 4 clans play actual matches.

Clans/recruitment seems pretty informal right now. If you want to join one of those clans, I'd go find either servers hosted by them or try playing with their members when they are on.
As for creating your own clan, its a fair bit of work if you want to be successful. Usually a strong web presence (website, steamgroup, vent/TS/mumble) or game-specific server is helpful. If you are a part of another clan outside of NS2, you might see if you could get that clan to gain a presence in NS2. I see quite a few clans that support competitive teams in multiple games.

If you have played in a match hosted by NS2HD, you are welcome to apply to the group.

Maybe someone who has a bit more experience with playing NS/NS2 competitively should run something like that.
agreed
Playing a different game professionally doesn't mean much. There are a lot of ENSL vets active on the forums that would be happy to run something like this.
if aCId_rAIn has played games at a professional level for 10 years (including NS) shouldn't that be enough?
I don't think anyone can call themselves professional NS2 players yet so I don't see a problem.

No, that shouldn't be enough. You should at least be decent at the game.
Any kind of pro level NS2 is built on top of the competetive community and we are barely starting to have some kind of occassional organized games right now. I'm not against working towards a goal like high end gaming, but you can't start building it from the top. First things are to get NS2 working fluently as a competetive game, then building up a functioning competetive scene and then seeing where it can go from there.
Also, what does professional exactly mean in this context? It's not like NS1 had major LAN tournaments or that much money involved. In the very peak moments there was maybe some money and hardware prizes on the line, but that's it as far as I've understood.
Edit: And yeah, as I said I absolutely don't want to discourage anyone from trying to build NS2 as a competetive game, I'm just a bit puzzled on what the professional NS2 exactly is.
You applied? I dont recall seeing the App. Please reapply if you are still interested.
Someone is taking the initiative to organize an NS2 group, and all you can do is complain that the initiator is not an NS pr0? That's no way to keep a community together.
let me get this strait is this the link http://team156.com/ im supposed apply at
Doing it wrong can cause too much damage all he is asking is more experience.
@Bacillus
Yep I agree step by step.
sure, I haven't played with him like you have (right?)
I just assumed that 10 years as a "pro" would get you decent.
dePara wanted to play against vlnc's clan so he was hanging around on NS2 servers asking people (one of them happened to be me) if they want to join him. He simply invited me to steam friends and told me when the game was going to take place (and that we were using Frelges mumble). About half an hour before the game started I joined the mumble. Like 10 minutes before the game should be starting we thought "umm, we need a name". After 5 minutes of brainstorming we had a name and there we are: Clan founded.
The other stuff like having a Steam group, a game server and now even an own mumble, dePara took care of later. The first thing thats important if you want to found a clan is that you have some guys who want to play with you.
Electronics companies can't be managed by marketing gurus or college drop-outs?
That is correct. Then go to the "Board Index" tab and you will see a spot for "Applications" If you still have trouble IM me here.
