I usually go through the wordlists.txt and take out the "less offensive" words. For now, that's the best thing I can think of.

    Cheers!

I run a server and I have to say I like the filters, I'm part of a group who likes to play we even have a couple grandmas who play with us... wow I never thought I'd see that... Anyways I filter the language mainly cause I don't care to listen to it. It's my server, I paid for it, I'm selfish and I'm tired of listening to profanity. I get enough of it during the day that when I'm playing I'd like a little peace. Another thing I do is I've blocked off using the Lord's name in vain. Yes I'm a Christian white guy... oooo I must be a neo-nazi or something like that.... actually I'm not I just dont' want to hear it so I've filtered it. If someone want's to play on my server then they should follow the rules or find another server.

For those who run language filters, Good for you! For those who don't, Good for you too. It's your computer so use it how you want to.

I tried using the wordlist.txt with adminmod, but it doesn't seem to be working. I must be some kind of idiot.

What are you guys using to filter/what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks, guys.

I run a few servers (tfc, cs, dod, ns) here and there and in all instances we try to run a tight ship as far as offensive behavior and words go. What gives me the right to do this? My house, my rules. My running the server is what gives me the right. There are set rules in the motd for everyone to see, yet I constantly get the "admin on a power trip" line from the overachiver llama's. Which ya gotta love, btw.

Why run a clean server? For me personally, it has to do with the image and the playing enviroment that I try to promote as well as not giving said behaviour a place to propagate. Alot of my clanmates have little kids who play on the servers, and I know if they were my kids I would do what I could to make sure they don't get corupted like alot of the youths these days. The worlds a messed up place, why help the little tikes turn evil faster .

Everybody slips now and then and cusses, it happens. Constant lude, crude, or offensive behaviour on the otherhand we take care of on the spot. It goes down, warning, 2nd warning, kick, ban. Bigatry or any sort of -ism is taken care of even quicker. Warning, ban.

OMG, we're so strict! Maybe, but the servers are rediculasly fun to play in because of it.

    Cheers.
