Some questions about creep/flamethrower

With the resource models how they are, what are marines supposed to do against late game overinfestation? Maybe I'm missing something, but if you buy a flame thrower, and take out 2 patches of infestation.. how do you get more ammo? You have to go buy another flamethrower right?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but then are we supposed to spend 30 resources each time we want to burn off 2 patches, when that takes approximately 30 seconds for 2 hives to put right back again? Flamethrowers in their current state I think are too expensive. Make them cheaper and slightly less effective against stamina loss?

You can get more ammo at an armory or by a commander dropping it. Also, infestation dies if it's not connected to a hive, meaning if you follow it really far and cut it off from the hive it'll die after a minute or so.
When you stand next to an armory facing it you regain health/ammo. Your health/armor first fully replenishes and then your ammo for whatever gun you're holding replenishes. Your ammo will not go up if you aren't at full health.
Charlie told me that's already changed for the next patch :P
You will be able to get health and ammo simultaneously

Awesome! That has bugged me for a while.
Wrt the op,
1. DI must connect to a hive to survive, so find a single patch in between the room you want to clear and the hive its connected to and burn that (but don't get too close to the hive or else you'll spend more time fighting off aliens than burning DI)
2. Currently, it takes a significant amount of flamethrower ammo (roughly 3 clips) to kill a single DI patch.
3. The flamethrower ammo indicator doesn't work, so you either have to count your reloads or fire until the its fully out of ammo. Ammo can be replenished by facing the armory or comm-dropped ammopacks.

you will not be able to kill infestation patches directly, only the pustules/cysts (which will be the source of infestation)
flamethrowers will be able to set the infestation on fire, leading the flames to the pustules where they deal some
amount of damage by burning them. alternatively you can take you gun / grenade launcher and shoot the pustule
directly.
