People really want it, too. Someone offered me three hats for it. I responded by shooting them with the new heavy gun, then laughing about the fact that I have it.
I'm glad I've been able to use it before it gets nerfed, because it's really going to get nerfed.

The new spy stuff is made of maximum trolling, you can ride around a spawn area for quite some time with the deadringer, letrenger (gives cloak on hit) and big earner (gives cloak on kill). Stabbing/shooting randomly and raiding boxes and weapons on the way.
I've found a couple of weapons (axe for demo, some china lake looking thing for demo and some knuckle dusters for the heavy) for classes that I don't really play.
I did however find some fan thing for the scout but I've no idea whats so special about it bar it doing 90% less damage. =s
Also found a supply crate but I don't have a key for it...

The FAN (Force of Nature) shoots much faster and knocks enemies back and yourself if in air. I don't know what you mean with "90% less damage", it shoots more pellets but every pellet does slightly less damage than the scattergun, thus doing more damage close up. This allows some clever maneuvering while also possibly kill a soldier real quick if both shots hit dead on. Furthermore you aren't automatically screwed if you face someone in a cramped space, just shove em away and flee (and possibly come back over and over until they are dead).
Keys can be bought for money or traded for, check my page 1 post.

I actually had to google mini-crits to see what the hell it meant since besides brief mentions of mini-crits in the menu screens there was little to no actual explanation of what they are/did.
I have managed to kill a few people with just the fan-o-war purely by jumping about like a rabid jack spaniel.
The biggest problem I have with the game so far is lag and high latency keeping my ping up around the 200 region which is frustrating because I have to lead my shots (more than I would in a game with bots) to compensate for the split second delay of bullet travel.
Its puzzling because I've a decent connection speed giving me sub 50 ping in most other games =/

I've noticed that, since the latest update, some servers have amazingly high lag. Even if my ping stays relatively low (it's usually around 30-40, but on some servers recently it's been 70-100), the game warps around like I'm pinging 500. Makes the game unplayable.
At first I thought it was my computer but then I found some other servers where the game runs fine. I'm assuming it's related to the update but I don't know.
Also the scout's fish is the best melee weapon in the game. Fiiiiishhhhhh kiiiiiiiiiiilllllll.
I don't think I've had a game with a ping lower than 180 and its beyond irritating when your killed round a corner or are flamed by a pyro facing the opposite direction and its made worse when there is still plenty of people in the game with a much lower ping all whoring the hunting bow...
Its a shame you cant trade (only receive) with F2P since I have a supply crate that I'm never going to actually buy a key for so its a shame I cant just give it away or trade it on.

Probably an obvious thing, but have you tried setting the server browser filters to only display servers in your area? North America, Europe or whatever. If not, try doing that, then try picking some 24 player servers (rather than the 32 player ones) to see if they run any better.

I can't remember if they patched it or not since release but the Fan of War has a timer like jarate, difference being you can't speed up the removal with healing. I guess it is pretty useless :P Should definitively be forever on one person or allow several to be marked.
I also wonder when they will bother removing the 'normal' selfsplash range on the Direct Hit, so far it hurts yourself at a much longer range than it does to enemies :/
Finally unlocked the "Force a nature" after grinding through a few game on two fort that had the enemy team more concerned with camping our spawn than stopping me casually running past them and stealing their intel like I was delivering mail.
F.A.N is pretty awesome especially for knocking back pyro's or claymore wielding demo men.

Oh you're gonnah love that thing, it's the ultimate trolling weapon vs enemy engies, steal their ammo kill their buddies and if you play it right you just can't die :P

Ah yes, that should have been obvious. Still, they can make it splash yourself less when hitting an enemy, and just have as it is when hitting the environment. It's still considered inferior to every other unlock in terms of killing things other than sentries, especially now with the release of the liberty launcher AND the shotgun that gives minicrits on airborne targets. It essentially gives the other rocketlaunchers the same ability as the direct hit.
Well, the direct hit's still better for sentries. But that's about it. Unless you're really great at prediction it's just not all that good. Bound to happen with feature creep.
Time to smelt those new fancy guns they gave you, they are now worse than any vanilla stuff (tomislav and demoknight at least).

I got to borrow Stickman's tommygun! A medic latched on to me and we went and killed everyone. He called me "a beast." I think he was hitting on me.

@Drake: Don't forget FaN's knockback can grant you upward thrust if you shoot downward, pretty useful to get to places.
