A Steam group used to quickly find scrims when NS2 releases.

Organized match, usually between two or more clans/communities. Tournaments could be said to be an organized set of scrims.

Also known as PCW, Practice clan war

List of IRC channels and networks would be nice.

Mhh well what ever channel you want but the way its done for the most part is in irl. Steam group could work but irc is the best way. People dont want to plan a scrim because thats just silly. You got enough on u get on irc and find another team that has enough on and scrim. Thats how all the top fps games do it. So if you dont want to use irc because people talk about other things then just ns idk what to tell yeah.

Steam group are essentially made for regroup people and maybe send messages for important events but not for finding pcw. Like you said, the best way to find match/train is still IRC

The NS2 Scrim Network allows any member to post real-time announcements to all members of the group. Announcements are shown to members in a pop-up box in the lower right corner of the screen, similar to an instant message. All NS2 players have Steam but not all NS2 players have IRC. This is also faster than IRC since you can directly add the member who posted to your friends list. I strongly encourage anyone interested in competitive or organized play to join. The larger the network becomes, obviously, the faster it will be to find a team to play.

Mostly because we get tired of talking about NS2 and would rather socialize about other stuff.

But if you want, you can try to setup scrims in there.

pretty much what riot said. Everyone who is going to be playing will be using steam, and a steam group / network allows users to instantly add the person looking for a scrim / ringer without using any additional programs like #IRC.

Everyone will be allowed to post announcements for scrims and ringers and pugs, and spammers will be kicked from the group.
