<div class="IPBDescription">What do you think?</div>I played several games last night, and commanded a few times as marines. I like the new ARC, but it does have some issues that need to be addressed.
Here are the bugs I found and my take on ARC balance:
1) Robotics factory buggy. The ARC comes out the wrong end of the structure and often gets stuck. Marines passing by the robotics factory or arms lab sometimes get stuck, and have to kill themselves.
2) ARC falling through the map. Like whips, the ARC has the same problem.
3) Won't always deploy. Deploying it is buggy, and it can be hard to deploy.
4) Doesn't seem to require LOS. I know it can go through walls, but it should require an observatory scan or marine player spotting to fire. It seems to fire on anything in its range whether it has LOS or not.
5) Can't be repaired. This really sucks for marines. MACs can't repair it, and it's quite expensive to lose. If you only fix one thing in this list, address this first!
6) Seems to fire on ALL targets at once. I expected it to be like NS1 and it would only fire at one target at a time (but with splash damage)
7) Damage seems about right. Although maybe it's a bit too much. NS1 required 2 or 3 to really be effective, but one ARC is pretty potent in NS2. Of course the ARC is quite expensive, so it should be good.
8) Range is good.
9) Very expensive. At 25 personal resources, it's hard for marines to afford them, especially with the new res model (and lack of extractor upgrades). This wouldn't be so bad if it didn't fall off the map half the time or get destroyed after one attack because you can't repair them. With purchasing MACs, ARCs, and giving out medpacks, I found myself constantly running out of personal resources as commander. Being able to repair MACs and ARCs would help a bunch.
