Idea for Lerk

Just an idea I brewed up
I was thinking about the Lerk spores and well:

What if the Lerks could make their spores blow up when they like.

-I was thinking that as a Lerk you could left click to fire the spore and right click to make it explode. This could be an upgrade and would give the Aliens a counter against the Jetpacks. I know that Jetpacks are not released yet but if the Jetpacks are the same (Or similiar) to the NS1 Jetpacks then blowing up your Spores in mid-air so the Jetpacks go into them and then lose health.

-Another Idea is that the Lerk could have an Alt-Fire ability that acts as a mine and can be triggered by Alt-Fire again. If this "Mines" are trod on by a marine it will explode.
Upgrades for this could be:
"Mine" parasites marines.
"Mine" causes damage when exploding (Or it causes a Spore when exploding.)

Tell me what you think of my idea.
(I did try searching in the Search bar but I failed to find anything similar to what I wanted to say)

I like the intention, but it seems like this would provide very minimal utility, and probably not worth the skill required to use effectively. Even if you do manage to activate a spore cloud a few moments earlier than the wall it was bound to collide with, the Jetpacker will be out of the cloud before it does any considerable amount of damage.

To get a similar effect with less effort (and changing the button scheme), why not tether Spores to a visible projectile--call it a Spore Sac--that produces the Spore cloud, and then provide an upgrade that makes these Spore Sacs sticky. Then you can tag Jetpackers, walls, ceilings, whatever you like.

On the design log, or maybe it was a forum post, someone stated that spores would activate at your own location, but maybe there'd be an upgrade to have spores have the same functionality that they do now.
