NS2 Tutorial video

<div class="IPBDescription">...made by the community</div>There is still a tutorial for NS2 missing, especially for players, who don't know NS1, right?

I figured, why not creating a tutorial video for thoose players?
But as most of us know, video shooting and editing takes a lot of time, you need at least a brief Idea in which way you want to show something and maybe some voice overs would be nice.
That is a lot of work to do for a single person.

So, why not work together? I'm sure some of you know how to shoot and edit a ingame video, and maybe we find someone who does the voiceovers (I am not the best choise. A german accent sounds strange in a tutorial video, doesn't it?)

Here is what I have already done:

NOTE:
Only the marine tutorial is up yet, and in the marine tutorial only the "Weapons" tutorial works.


Things that have to be done:
- Marine basics
- Marine buildings
- Marine weapons voiceover
- Marine commander

- Alien basics
- alien structures
- Alien lifeforms
- Alien hivemind

Any volunteers to join?
Any suggestions or feedback?


PS: I know that the aspect ratio of the weapon tutorial is messed up, but I am going to reupload it anyway once the voice over is done.

PS²: I have only a 4:3 Monitor, so no FullHD, sorry.

Nice work Shilorius! NS2 definitly needs tutorial videos.

I've tried makkng tutorial videos before, but only got as far as infantry portal and egg spawning. I found that as soon as I finished editing and voiceovering the tutorial, the Build would change and something would be outdated. For example, there was no DI when I did the egg tutorial, and Tram looks completely different compared to when I shot my infantry portal in it.

I fully support the idea of making tutorials and would love to help out though.

I would add a disclaimer that everything you show is beta footage and doesnt show the quality of the final product. (and you are not part of UWE - so its not an offical channel)
Since a lot will get changed and/or added, like the DI, Onos, Jetpacks, Exo, ARC, Railgun, Miniguns, flamethrower effects....

Nice Intro, but it would be cool to add another "choose your site" (why site and not side? btw) layer - so if ppl want to go back to this screen they dont have to watch the intro over and over again. (or maybe there is an option to link back at a specific timestamp, so you dont have to put in another video for this)

That beeing said, there is no link back to "choose your site" at least not in the first marine layer. (structures weapons basics)

I would add commander basics too, so you can watch: thats your job as basic marine, and thats your job as commander.
Structures, etc cover info for both - the normal player and commander.

I always thought it would be cool if the menu screen was basically a marine perspective.. if you click training.. You would walk over to a room or screen and the Marine training video would sorta start playing.. include basic information.. like security cam footage of aliens explaining what they can do.. some tubes with aliens that are being studied thrown into it.. with a funny interesting script, narrator, something entertaining to watch and get you pumped to play. I know this is sort of extremely typical but could be real good

PS: lmg (model with hands), and a few alien structures are not so good (like the crag -> had a crap editor lightning setup for those)
