It hasn't been distributed by Valve yet. It takes hours sometimes or minutes after UWE sends it in, no one knows how long it'll take.
s_stats 1 worked for me. 0 to off.
fx_stats (no 1 or 0) brought up r_stats and s_stats together.
I'd like to hope that helps but it might not help you, maybe some others :)

The build number on the main screen is updated to 167 btw
I noticed a problem with sound when playing on high ping or a server with high load sometimes the soundfx for the guns would trigger twice.
Still, it feels like I never hear the marine fire that's killing me unless I'm at melee range. Because I expect to hear the large bullet-ripping sounds you hear in most FPSs, I immediately feel like I've been flashbanged or something (which obviously doesn't exist but the feeling persists). It's odd at first, but now it's actually quite nice not to hear bullets ripping in to you; I can focus better and don't get all jumpy.
Please consider - it is possible in final stages to add EXAMPLE: a mobile drone (that automatically but very slowly) clears infestation?
or
Example Aliens: Shift Umbra from crags to (some mobile structure, ground or flying) controlled by commander for techical moves?
or
Perhaps a Goo explosion creature (one time usage : and expensive) that temporarily disable (5~7seconds) all marine structures in AoE/Room?
Instead of just thinking of the negative impact of bugs. UWE might find new ideas made by them.

Sound looping could have been made as a (alien parasite) disorentiate marines? Create false impression (hive or structure is guarded)?
Midair shulk leaps - A possible upgrade tier 3?
Flame thrower shoot through wall bug - Perhaps a soundwave/shockwave pistol that shoots through (thin walls) ?
Marine invunerable bug - Commander (team + player res) skill? Long cooldown low invunerable time (3 secs?)
