Build Three Of Each Type Of Tower At Each Base

<div class="IPBDescription">redundancy :)</div> about 1 hour into a long game, when resources are not an issue, if they are not already built you should have 3 of each upgrade tower (def, move, sense) at EACH hive (minimum total of 9). build them clustered or far apart, in th open or hidden, but build them.

why? because often i have seen dedicated marines take back a hive. if that have was linked to the movement upgrade, you can't build any more movement chambers, and you will lose the movement upgrade if they take out all your movement towers. if you have 3 at each hive you are guaranteed to ALWAYS be able to do max upgrades until the game is over and they took out all 3 hives.

sort of obvious i guess but i never see anyone else do it.

    I disagree. If you're using the towers properly, it shouldn't be a problem.

    Movement: 1 at each hive and scattered around hive conflict areas. Allows for quick hive defense.
    Defense: Heals buildings in radius. 2 inside of a cluster of 5 Otowers is very effective.
    Sensory: Eyes and Ears. Not that useful, but you should place them near towers to help you defend them.

    if you dont have 3 towers at each base, if the marines take out a hive and some towers you will lose the ability to do upgrades until you get that hive back

    if you have the 9 towers built at each hive you can do max upgrades even when you are down to 1 hive

    by all means put MORE than the 27 towers (3 towers * 3 each at 3 hives = 27), but put these 27 down to guarantee upgrades all the level 3 upgrades no matter what happens to your hives

    also remember, defence chambers effect does NOT stack past 3, so havving a million defence chambers is a BIG waste of resources

    YES they do stack!! they just loose effectiverness per extra somthing like first three give you 10 HP back per tick then the next 3 only 6 hp then the next 3 only 2 hp then the next three only 1 hp and so on, not sure on the exact number, but they deffinatly stack past 3.

    I miss the part where the marines are polite enough to not destroy all 9 of your upgrade chambers while they are setting up shop in your hive..

    No, you set up sets of 9 in ALL hives.
    Even if one or two hives get taken out you still have the max upgrades...

    Quick note on d chambers thing, yes they did stack past 3, it was a bug. Of course now 1.02 is out so it doesnt matter, d chambers were weakened a little.

    I usually do this when we have 2 hives and if we lose the second hive then get it back again we can have all of the the level 3 upgrades... but when we get three hive I am usually having to much fun gassing the little funny green metal things that run around....
