Tram mapping issues megathread
Hey.

I couldn't find a thread specifically for issues or Tram issues, so I made one, as suggested on IRC. I didn't feel like reporting each bug by Getsatisfaction would be such a good idea.
I guess we could number the issues, or severe mapping bugs in each thread, so they can be referred to later.

Tram Issue #1 [b162]: Gorge Stuck Spot in Alien Expansion

If you jump here as gorge, you get stuck indefinitely in between the box and the rails, floating in air. Only way out is to be killed or suiciding. It's a prime spot for hydra planting, so it's easy to get stuck there.

All bug reporting should be done here where Brian #1 will see it and thank you for your input. http://getsatisfaction.com/unknownworlds/topics/

or just hit the feedback button to the right of your screen

But this is a map issue, not a game issue per say. But I understand Tram is a 'dev map'.
I doubt Optimus Brian will want to handle all the custom map bugs though.

We added the map annotations feature recently, which might be better for this sort of feedback. To use it for your issue above, go to that spot in the map and type "annotate Gorges get stuck in this spot", or however you'd like to phrase it. Then we can see all the map issues when actually running around the map!

Do I type that to the chat or console? I tried both but got no visual clue that anything happened. And who gets the feedback exactly? The devs or the map maker?

Sorry, I really wasn't clear enough there.

Type it in the console. If you want to see annotations type "displayannotations true". It's sent to a remote server so the mapper (or anyone really) can type that in and see feedback.

This might be more clear: http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/in...=112530&hl=

Also, the command is "annotation [text]" rather than "annotate [text]". I've noticed that you need to retype "displayannotations true" after you've done your annotation to view it (i.e. it doesn't automatically show up). I accidentally did a few double annotations until I figured that out.

You can't delete an annotation, so make sure everything is correct before you hit enter. Though, as I understand, all map annotations will be deleted once B163 is released (today?), so you might want to wait.

Correction on this. "annotate [text]" works as well.
I re-added the worst bug spots for the b165 again by annotation. Hopefully these are checked out!

Yeah, it definitely works with "annotate". He even uses it in the video. Thanks for that though, it does explain it nicely.
