It seems, rainboweeeeeee! Not sure about this one, it seems nice but it also seems meh. It looks like DK, but plays somewhat differently and lacking Bullfrog comedy:

But they seemed to enjoy it.
If a demo comes out I would certainly play it and maybe find out I'm wrong.
I'll give a try when it's on a Steam special-offer weekend.
YIHBIHDIHBAH (Dorf)
AHAHAHHHHAAAAAAH (Skeleton)
BLOOORFGH (Bile Demon)
Just to name a few... I haven't seen much minions anyways in those vids either :/

A fan-made DK-like game.
There has been such a call for DK3 it annoys me that it's been ignored.
UWE, i don't know what your long term plan is in terms of staying indie etc. But PLEASE if someone from EA comes to your offices with an offer, *roundhouse*.
In fact, even if they don't come with an offer.
What you do in this game is pimp your dungeon so hero's come in and either gorge up on gold or have battles. They have a happy meter or something and once it is full you "slay" them and put them in your prison, which will then give you soul energy... This energy can be used to buy even more pimp stuff for your dungeon so hero's stay longer in your dungeon and you can farm more soul energy from them...
And you can put down spawnpoints for monsters (which you get trough expanding your area of influence on top of their lair). And you drop down gold/chests all over the place, which can be mined from any block (as far as I have seen)
In the end it is you, the overlord guy (without minions), have to keep running around slaying hero's before they leave the dungeon with your gold... - It looks like the webcomic Dungeons and Denizens turned into a game, BUT without controllable and memorable minions, all you have are monsters that spawn near a spawnpoint and lack any kind of character and are basically nothing more then cannonfodder
What about traps, funny and unique minions, the casino, possession of your creeps, making lairs and all that good stuff! Sure I've not seen everything in these vids, but so far it just isn't clear if those things are even ingame at all... Also the sound, where is the friggin' memorable sounds of combat and funny creep sounds T_T
For a game that advertises itself as the next DK it look more like "Sims 4 - I wannah be Dungeons Keeper, kinda" There is no evil in this one, it feels more like one of this pimp my cribs video's on MTV :D
A good game if you like that sort of thing, but certainly not the next DK!
First glance at the game and the preview trailers does give this impression whether they want this DK vibe or not. And because of this perhaps unintended push into it being a DK predecessor, most people think it has failed. I dunno it might be a good game, but this Evil Sims feel I get from it, just doesn't urge me to get it any time soon :/
I know someone said earlier in the thread that 'you get more soul energy and get more pimp equipment to make heroes stay in your dungeon for longer' but that's completely the inverse of what actually happens. When you start the level you have so very few corridors and the corridors you do have all seem to lead straight from the hero-entrance points straight to your friggin dungeon heart which they, since they are heroes, love to start attacking willy nilly.
The main problem with all this is that:
a. the things you can satisfy heroes with at the beginning only satisfy them a little bit
b. since they're only a little satisfied they start wandering around looking for the next entertainment-fix, often right into your dungeon heart which forces you to kill them since they don't just wander off again after a failed assault, they attack your heart-protector guy and he rapes them but then they run off, chug a healing potion and waltz back in for round 2 and death.
c. now you have a bunch of unsatisfied heroes in your dungeon wandering around looking for happy and the game averages the happiness of all the heroes in your dungeon to see if they start getting grumpy and run straight at your dungeon heart to go smash it.
d. now you have a bunch of unsatisfied heroes who level up automatically, not related to the strength of your dungeon or their personal accomplishments so the longer the game goes the stronger they are. These ass-jacks all gang up on your heart defender/you/your heart and rape it with fireballs.
Ways to avoid this:
1. Kill heroes that enter your dungeon
2. Try desperately to lead them away from your dungeon heart into newly crafted tunnels which hardly ever works because heroes LOVE to attack your imps if nothing shiny has the hero's attention just then
3. Use prestige gimmicks to distract heroes down corridors. No actually this doesn't work because they hate you and prefer to keep walking towards you/your heart to get butt-raped.
4. Kill yourself
So we have two scenarios:
You have no soul power because you murder heroes to keep them from numbering in the dozens and bum-loving you.
or
You let heroes wander around in your dungeon, freaking out your imps and preventing them from doing ANYTHING such as build new pentagrams, dig new tunnels, replace gold or work in armories. So now the heroes attack the imps which were restocking the things that made them happy, so now you have dozens of rapidly grumpifying heroes and then you die.
:(
Of course, what this means is that when you get deeper into the level and somehow manage to accumulate good amounts of cash you can at least afford to build quite fancy libraries and workshops but then you'll get fat and happy heroes making a b-line for the door (or in the case of mages making a townportal.. the jerks)
GIVE ME A FRIGGEN DOOR. DOOR. ONE DOOR. Maybe a spike pit to keep curious adventurers from going the wrong direction. What ever happened to heroes needing to find keys to get to the boss level.
Grrr. Plus the autosave function crashes the game.
This is not dungeon keeper 1, 2 or anything like it. It's more like all the annoying parts about evil genius, you know, when the secret agents were swarming your base and keeping you from accomplishing anything? Yeah, the whole game is that.
---
The pros:
- The humour of your goblin buddy is pretty good and the dialogue is surprisingly good for a german dev team, but there are still some head-scratchers of dialogue mix ups but it's no big deal.
- It's fun building monster-nest-rape-fests, kinda.
- The 'a monster has killed one of your heroes!' voice notice is somewhat pleasing., too bad the game discourages this behaviour!
Cons
- You want more then two rooms? F*** off and die, two is all you get.
- It just feels like the wrong kind of gameplay for this genre.
- Other stuff I said earlier.
Now we won't have to buy it to find out for ourselves.

Full review link in there as well for those interested. Still processing or something along those lines...
I kind of like it. The biggest things that bug me are that goblin's voice and some of the challenges early on are triggering my OCD gaming style so I can't just completely screw around.

The best part of that is how some of the challenge conditions invalidate other challenges, like "Get lots of goblins!" conflicting somewhat with "Don't get more then two goblins!"
Yeah.. uah.. great.
But the challenges mostly yield blah scrolls anyway.

Yeah, those two challenges on the same level :P sucks dunnit?
WTT is your dungeon supposed to be... A frigging museum? I just don't understand why those heroes should e allowed in your dungeon anyways, without the lack of traps what so ever...
So, traps actually work really really well for helping develop 'secure' areas of your dungeon... the only thing that can get through them are thieves but thieves get HUGE satisfaction from disabling traps, so if you put badass traps right in front of your dungeon heart then when a thief goes and disables it he's about 5 feet from you and ripe for the killing. It actually makes it almost too easy to get souls now...
A door would have been nice too though, just to slow heroes down. You know, if they bash on it for a while and then it opens and then later an imp comes along and repairs it.
So easy to do with their current system too... bleh.
