Like limitations.
I have a few questions about Spark:
How big can map sizes get? (Like full size cities or Source Engine sized maps)
Will there be tutorials on how to use the Spark Tools?
Will Unknown Worlds be using Spark in their next game?
Is it possible to have seamless map loading? (Like Gamebryo [Fallout 3])
Is Natural Selection 2 pushing Spark on visual detail, like the detail of models and textures? Can it be even more detailed?
Why is Natural Selection 2 so god damned sexy?

And I certainly think they'd be using it in their next game, to make an Engine this complex and well made just for a single game? Be a shame, a real shame. :P
But yeah, I hope we can have maps bigger than Source, the current ones in-game are smaller than alot of Source maps, so I hope they can go bigger than that at least. They are placeholder maps, though, as has been said.
There are some basic tutorials here: http://www.naturalselection2.com/tutorials and the community also has a wiki found here: http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/index.php/Main_Page. More tutorials will probably be released by the community as they get more familiar with the tools.
They are pretty focused on Natural Selection 2 at the moment, I sincerely doubt they are worrying about what's next when they still have to release their flagship game.
I'm personally not sure, although that seems like a pretty significant feature I would have read about. I going with no, partially because the game doesn't call for such a feature and they have one man working on the technical aspects of the game.
Everything can be "more detailed", it just depends on what the engine can handle and what your computer can handle. They have a benchmark and style I'm sure they are wanting to stick with so as not to set the game specifications too high. Still, the game looks very good and if you'd like, you can always create your own meshes and import them into the game should you find you want more detailed objects.
Because it's created by talented individuals who have a passion for game development and the project they are working on. They have a lot riding on NS2, so they are giving it their all.
Yeah, I've played some Source mods with maps as big as Battlefield, no joke.
Not talking about Eternal Silence, and I don't really care if it "cheats" the maps for ES do seem big, though. Talking about Empires. Huge maps

Took me like 10 minutes to walk from one side to another on some of the maps they have.

There are aircrafts being done and that requires map scaling so maps are 16x wider/longer/higher than what you saw in Empires. You shouldn't be walking most of the time anyway. Unscaled map like what you showed is too small to look nice.
