Ns Authentication

I have a friend down the hall who started a dedicated server. When I try to get onto it, it kicks me out saying that the server requires WON authentication. This only happens with the dedicated server and only from my computer. I have no problem getting on the CS dedicated server here on campus. I couldn't get authentication if I wanted to anyway because they keep out network in a bubble here at school. Any help would be great.

make sure your friend has sv_lan set to 1 in the server.cfg file.. this will tell hlds that the game is to be run as a LAN game, rather than internet..
