    this shot reminds me of an area in an NS1 map, can't remember what map though, I think it also had a huge open cargo bay area on it aswell?

    ns_nancy? The rt near mother is the closest I could think of, and the "huge open cargo bay" confirmed my thought. :)

    I stand corrected, those shots look really good, I suppose I shouldn't have been lazy and checked out the other shots of the map, forgive me I been suffering for the past week with man flu so my head is in all kinds of places.
    Overall though the map is looking really sharp.

    I really really really like the architecture in this 'room'. You could try changing the color of the waterfall sprite from 255; 255; 255 to something like 104; 181; 242.

    Completely different, but it feels like ns_hera. Especially because of outdoors. Hope you get good map-shape and then superb details. For now, name is perfect, idea is perfect, and design of ourdoor is astonishing so i expect this for another official map when gets good shapes.

    first off, thank you very much for the compliment, i loved hera and i really tried to copy ns1 maps unique rooms, always helped me learn maps faster. as for getting balanced and then detailing, this was my first map so i havent play tested it before committing to rooms, so we'll see what happens and i'll hinder/facilitate where needed. when i started, all i had was rockdown and tram so i made my map about tram size so i don't think map size will be an issue. it's mostly geometry and i used props to highlight and break up the monotony (spelling?) and when used alot (like in both spawns) i took advantage of prop instancing and used the same prop. i expect it to perform better than tram and summit in the end.

    i expect to be testing by the end of the month :)

    as far as official, i'd be honored if people just play it

    have you considered modelling some kind of futuristic dropship to sit on the helipad? you could make up backstory like the base is under attack and the marines got sent in the ship to investigate, and that's how they got there, maybe even have the ship be damaged in some way (by the aliens after landing) and now because of that the marines can't escape ;)

    i did think of that actually, but not on the helipad (not enough room for buildings). i was actually thinking of doing a cinematic of marines flying in and then investigating the abandoned facility.. maybe after the map is done :)

    also, modeling takes time and i haven't opened maya or 3dstudiomax in over a year. i'd have to outsource that out to someone else. and before that happened i'd want a centerpiece for my map so i don't have to steal tram's holographic.

    come to think of it, i think someone modelled a spacecraft already...

    would the cinematic just be some separate thing or would it play when the round begins?

    separate thing, you wouldn't want to watch a five min cinematic everytime you started a match.

    currently fighting with custom textures. but here's messhall. progress is slow and my add is bad (i'm being diagnosed) among other excuses. one rt room left, occlusion geometry, need to texture some vents, take a look at commander view again, fix my broken custom textures/skybox/cinematics, then beta test. can't really give you a timeframe. thanks for the interest peregrinus.

    I'm not dead yet.

    Thanks swalk. Besides a broken skybox, the map is done, I have to patch in geometry for one room in OcclusionGeometry but that's it. That and the fact that only the exact left side of my map works for pathing.... the mesh breaks and you can't place rt's on any of the nodes on the right side of the map. I will try to get screenshots for community help. I get a weird error message saying a resource point is invalid but there's no resource point at the coordinates it gives. I got frustrated and stopped working on it. I will get back to it soon.

    We sometimes have some trouble with the website not sending the emails for activation, and I saw your account was still not activated.
    So I activated it for you and added you to the Map/Mod Maker member group, you should be able to upload your map now.
    Just go to "Admin" (in the top left), "Downloads", then press the "Maps" button to upload your map. :)

    I also recommend you to upload to the steam workshop, as it's more widely known and used these days. :)

    Nice work,parts reminds me of several NS maps with a nice compact feel.

    Are you going to put it up in the workshop ?

    bty Where the outside cliffs meet the skybox theres tons of spots where you get stuck. <a href="http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=119764567" target="_blank">stuck</a>
