<div class="IPBDescription">Have you used/seen it yet?</div>Anyone made use of the drifter 'Flare' ability yet? I've never seen it in action as a Marine yet, and just wondered how effective it is. Would seem like a good way to stop a marine spawn camp, since I assume it's supposed to blind the marine for a short time. Does it affect aliens too? It's one of the few things where you need someone else to test it out, so I haven't had a chance to see it.

It's fairly effective, but the delay before Flare is triggered gives plenty of time for Marines to take the Drifter out.

3 sec full blindness execution is hard due bad and predictable movement of drifter.

Ive actually used it quite a bit as alien comm.

I think alien comm is cake, not much to it, so I always stack drifters, send em by the marine base somewhere, and when aliens charge in I just bomb the flares. Although it does blind team mates as well :|

When I use Flare as the Alien Commander, it actually blinds *ME* currently.

Yeah, I never use it because it blinds me. It would definitely have potential if it didn't have "friendly fire" though, but I think the pathing would need to be more precise for it to work well.

I was wondering what was blinding me. I got swarmed by drones once, it sucked.

Yeah, I finally experienced it once. Though I think the drifter was too far away from me (or I wasn't looking at it), because I didn't go totally blind. Pretty neat.
