What fps gamer are you?
<div class="IPBDescription">because every forum has one.</div>When you play any kind of first-person shooter, theirs always the usual camper, the long distance person, and the guy who stands in the back and watches the action. So I ask you, what fps gamer are you? Its always interesting to see the replies and how they react when they discover no one but themselves are campers :D
Pick a flavor, be sure to combine these to fit your style:
The Camper- These guys rather hang back in a spot and pick off that unfortunate player to walk their way. Bad campers pick predictable spots and die a lot more then others would. Good campers always pick unpredictable spots and change locations often.
The Quick Camper- Same as a normal camper, but they move more often and never stay in one spot for long. They avoid large scale attacks and firefights, as they have better things to do; whatever it is.
The Dogfighter- The "Mainstream" players, or what most of us are. They like action and always go to choke points were skirmishes are usually held. It doesn't matter if were you are in the map, these guys will be fighting the battle for you.
The First Arrivals- The guys who like starting fights when they were kids ended up starting most battles anywhere on the map. They are the players that make a difference and are veterans of the game. It doesn't matter how they got there before you, it just matters what they done before you.
The Support- If its being a medic or a sniper, they arrive on the scene with teammates to help out the battle. They always like company, and prefer to help out indirectly and will follow veteran players into battle. They heal you, give you ammo and cheer you on through battle. Often called, "The Other Guys" because they do the real work.
The Long Distance- They always want to be in the thick of action, but don't have the skill or guts to do it. So they hang back and take out the enemies with long range weapons or explosives. Doesn't matter what gun their using, they got good aim.
The Frontiersman- The guys who hang back and make a plan are the players with the best score at the end of the round. These guys do the dirty work by clearing out a base, securing a capture, or assaulting the base. They are extremely good players who usually have the other guys to help them. They usually make a difference in the game.
The Soloists- The players who prefer to go attack the enemy base by themselves and either failing miserably or winning amazingly. Tend to have good scores or horrible scores when the game is over.

I like to basically cheat, shoot people when they can't see me, camp to get the surprise advantage, use a long range gun against short range enemies, all that stuff.
So probably camper/long range. Anything that gives me an unfair advantage so I don't actually have to aim.
How about, goes in, shoots, dodges, reloads on the go and constantly moves while shooting targets and doesn't look for cover until uber-1337 helicopter or some crap shoots? I guess you'd call that the "Deathmatch Loner Nutjob with Aim" type, or something.
I am a camper/quickcamper/long distance/support.
Depends on my current weapon and mood.
I really like to ambush enemies, but I do not prioritate unpredictable spots, but instead spots I can flee from easily.
For example, lerk in tram hub have this vent its good to sit in (and its quite predictable), and I mostly sit there simply to gas and get attention. Then I flee back and while they stare at it scared, I come back trough the door to tram hub, shooting them in the back (or sometimes keep them occupied waiting for friend skulk to bite them in the back) XD. Works suprisingly well.
And now this tactic is useless as I told you guys about it :P
Using gas I also like to support other aliens, as that way I can make marines go in the directions I want (or cause alot of damage).
Other times I just sit back in a hard to see location, sniping stuff while friend aliens are keeping marines occupied.
Most often I am a patrol kind of player. I fly in a certain pattern, often involving marine spawn. This way I try to lure them out of their base, then return and create havoc, and as they get back, return to patrol (which happens to regen me XD).
Sometimes this is combined with camping, I sit in a an area enemies often comes to, then ambush them until I take to much damage/kill enemies, and then I move to another spot not far from there, likely with sight over last spot to kill whoever wants to retaliate.
People very rarely pick up on the pattern ;), altough when they do I have to change it...
If the game allows frequent respawning you must comply with the rules and never afraid to go die, either to clear a path or just scoop up traps to save those behind you. Whenever possible I suicide-run to revive good players laying in the crossfire. If a chokepoint is particularly thick with enemy fire, I try to flank around, even if it takes ages to hug the very corners of the map. Other times I snipe people behind the frontline, because my team often disregard them and get themselves oneshotted as they charge the closest enemies.

For most games, Soloist (rambo) fits me best, I tend to be a high risk high reward player, but at the same time I try to very rarely take meaningless risks.
Oh yes. If there is a "joke" way to kill someone, I will attempt it at any opportunity.
My favorite Planetside kill was crashing a dropship into a crowded (enemy) courtyard and killing 21 people in a single hit :D

I did that. Then I did it again with a Lodestar. Then the timer on my Galaxy was up, so I did that one again. So many hate tells...
That's probably by far the best use for a lodestar.
To be fair it was an attack of opportunity, I didn't go out of my way to do it the first time around. I'd dropped my outfit mates off at the tower and was told to ditch the galaxy. So I did :D

extremly handy for finding out what chipset and mobo you have.
I'm usually charging in head first and trying to take down as many as possible and just keep moving, I try to never stand still.. Had a solid 10 streak in COD a couple of times already so that works pretty good.
I'd call that playstyle hectic.
