Does anyone know a way to do that ?
Hello everyone,

I come here after spending some time on the cinematic editor trying to create some flickering lights, but i can't find a way for creating such lights...

Unfortunatly, on the curves window there isn't any key frames editable for the intensity value, nor for anything else except the "color" "angles" and "origin" values.

It's probably just a feature not yet implented... or else if someone get a clue on doing such lights, feel free to write down here the way you make them.

Thanks for your replies. See Ya.

Press the Record button change the Intensity value, pull the time line slider accross few frames, change value again and repeat till you have a short flikering light cut that you can loop in game, Dont forget to press the red button again to stop recording before you do anything else or you will mass things up :) .

nice, i was awaiting another patch to see if this was going to be an option in the editor. I personally think we should sticky a thread devoted to editor tips and tricks that most mappers wouldn't figure out without searching forever...or just searching barlows posts anyways.

Thanks, another vital piece of information to add to my text document. :)

Its basicly the same thing, With a preset option like you had in Hammer some person still had to sit there and create a load of key frames on a timeline to make those pulses and flickers you chose from a menu, You just got to make your own but it aint a pattern you can hotload to different lights so a light profile editor for light FX in the future would be ideal.
For now its quite a farse.

If you are looking to make lights in the aliens area flicker, I would hold off any mamoth cinematic task like that as there may be an entity you can place that will make lights in range of it twinkle around the nearest alien occupied tech point to it that is in its range also.
The entity is called: power_grid_node - Currently disfunctional and its future currently uncertain.
