Cant find the Alpha on steam

I tried to get the NS 2 alpha installed today but after a hour looking threw steam and trying to register NS2 using the Alpha key i got in the mail it says i need the original game first.

What am i doing wrong?

    There are two keys that you need to register with Steam.

    Use <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/retrieve" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/retrieve</a> to get them both (assuming you have Special Edition).

    You must register the NS2 key first, and then register the Black Armor one to activate the Alpha.
