MAC's and my oppinion.

Here is my take.
I played a few games when alpha came out and commanded them.
Its hard to command at the moment since waypoints dont work and minimap dont work so you have NO IDEA where your team is.
However...
We still won every game I commanded.
I sent and MAC to each RT and upgraded to GLs...
I had NO IDEA where my team was but eventually when they all (I think) had grenade launchers we won...
This is just TERRIBLE...
A commander should not be able to win a SERIES of games in a row doing the exact same stratergy and not have ANY IDEA AT ALL where his team is.
I fear that MAC's and not dropping guns are making this game into 2 different games.
An RTS game in which your units dont do what you tell them to do. (so its crap)
And an FPS where you may be at an advantage or a disatvantage depending on how well your commander is playing but you have NO WAY to help him.
Just my thoughts....

I have no idea why you could be moaning as it is an Alpha. All because this is what the alpha is like doesn't mean that the completed game will be like.

Ok, let me try to give you an educated guess explanation on this from my experience on the alpha-servers. I think that a critical fact for your repeated success was, that you were the only person "playing". By this i mean, no one else was doing anything beside idling through the map. Of course, when gl is ready you grab it as a marine and try to reproduce the multiple explosion bug on the hive.
If there were any 2 alien players motivated enough, they would have gone lerk asap and gassed you into oblivion and beyond.
be assured, your victory-rate will dwindle down, once the alpha is remotely playable at all ;-)

This is like the "we are in fall and the game is not there" (1st of September 2009, repeated on 21th), and the "I bought it and now I can't play" (as soon they downloaded the game, but didn't read the news), and the "I did not received the e-mail" (same as the previous), and the... ok, you get it. Too many threads about the same topic. Please, answer on one of this threads and keep only that thread for this topic.

It has pretty much always been like this around here, I don't think it'll change. But nature has always done it's work: good threads stay on the first page, bad threads just go down into oblivion. Just don't encourage bad threads by posting in them, oh wait---
