who made it?
just did some poking around, and it seems someone is already working on getting nsradio back up and running on a new domain, or something. its over at http://www.ns2radio.com , but ive noticed some broken english, and im pretty sure all our old staff were native english speakers, so does anyone know who made this site?

if you look at the "About" page, theres a lot of periods missing, and a few sentences are worded funny. im glad someone took the initiative to try and start it up again, it just strikes me as odd that they wouldnt want to talk to any of the other people that used to run it, since some of us are still around :P

i think the key is LOTS of staff, so we can have real people streaming most of the time. the bot gets old fast. i was talking with people in #ns early in the morning, and i got 2 offers to host our shoutcast. (thanks guys!) so i think theres really gonna be a good resurgence in this community, both old and new players. and thats the factor that will decide if nsradio can be back for good, cause i sure would love to have it back. it was some of the best fun ive had in this community.

Lol, I saw that the other day, too.

The issue I see with it is the lack of licensing of music. While NSr was/is community run, theres still the connection with UWE that could possibly lead towards a pain in the rear for them if there was any sort of tango with the law and the lack of common sense to realize its not them (because, lets face it, the law doesn't have much at times). Possible remedies for that situation would be to do indie-only music (there is a ton of independent-label music out there) or a podcast-only format.

i certainly wouldnt want any bad attention on UWE, its not like i would fight the MPAA if they came and said we had to shut down, so im not worried about that part. as for podcasts, it would pretty much eliminate the "request" option, and with such a small listener base, i think that level of interactivity would be crucial for our possible success.

luckily, internet radio isnt too popular these days, and in the scheme of internet radio, theres still bigger fish that the MPAA would target than us. but then again, i know how immoral and unjust our government can be, so we can never be sure
