Hello, I'm not really sure where to post my problems, if somebody could redirect me I would be glad to post it somewhere else. but here we go;
please bare with me: English is not my main language, I make mistakes.
I cant seem to be able to get the alpha playing even when I bought the special edition, and yes, I used the password keys to activate it through steam and I even had it somewhat working at the beginning, it manifested itself as a stretched out horizontal window covering most of my screen, and it displayed a lot of changing lines that all focused into the center of the window, and gladly enough I could hear the music perfectly, but all I would see is those lines and four black squares placed next to each-other in a row above the center, so after letting it run ten minutes I noticed it did not change so I shut down and proceeded to reinstall the alpha, I deleted my "natural selection 2" file in the "common" steamapps folder. and deleted local content through steam, after that I tried playing it again to get it to reinstall but everytime it says that the game is currently unavailable, normally I thought this was because the servers where too busy, since it was only one day since it's been out.
so I tried the next day, and the next day, and the one after that, and so on so forth, it's been four days and it's still written the same error of it being unavailable.
I don't understand what I did wrong, or what I should do, could anybody please help me?
I recently updated my video drivers accordingly and that didn't seem to help either.

One thing that usually helps, right click on NS2 in the Library, chose preferences and then Local Files. Now click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache
Another thing that usually helps is deleting the file ClientRegistry.blob found inside Steam folder. And just in case also delete AppUpdateStats.blob, but first close Steam, delete the file and then restart and wait the update process.
If neither of this helps, contact Steam support.
On the video problem, if you let us know which are your video card brand and model, how much ram you have and perhaps motherboard and CPU and windows version information too, we can give you some more help.
Remember that for non nVidia video cards you need to install manually from within the redist folder inside NS2 folder, Physx.
If you have an nVidia card and had installed the latest driver, then you already have Physx.
as for PaiSand, I'll try and look into your suggestions if the first one doesn't work for me, hopefully it does and I won't have to resort to more complex solutions involving file changes and whatnot, I'll try and give my specific hardware information later if that helps and if this solution fails, like I said.
and thanks, both of you.
