darwin. bigpond is the only service with half decent coverage. atleast they uncap you and give you unlimited download 10pm the night before your month resets

People with capped internets are in the minority, and as has been said, it's absurd for you to think the developers are going to slow their roll just because the internet providers in your country blow chunks. Just disable automatic downloads or something.

I thought Bigpond had the "does not count steam server usage" feature

I have Internode 60gb for $60AUD but steam does not count to Internode caps.

I don't see the point of this thread, I expect patches to be much greater in size when they start adding game content/models/assets etc. This is an Alpha if you didn't know.

    Pretty much this here.

If you are capped, prioritize things.

Pretty sure todd wasn't asking them to slow down, just to optimize the patch sizes.

I really don't get it why we still have to point this out to some persons over and over again.

Just be happy it isn't redownloading the whole game every time there is a new patch like with certain other games on Steam.

It's not -that- bad. When I was living there, I was paying $39.99 a month for ADSL2+ at 18Mbit with 50GB. I rarely went over my quota.

BUT, saying that. 50GB isn't a lot if you are constantly downloading games, movies, series, music, etc etc. Usually all the stuff that isn't legal :P

Also hardware prices are a lot better there than the UK. God damn to-be 20% VAT.

    Thread winner.

    I work a 100GB for 8MB/s cap per month.

Anything more I will be restricted to 1MB/s. Needless to say, I don't care how much the game is patched at; I don't download a lot of rubbish so large patch sizes are fine.

Alright, time to explain my position a little better. Basically, im stuck on *wait for it* o2 mobile broadband with 10gB of download per month. Been stuck on this since i moved down the country to a little ######hole of a town called thurles. So pretty much i nuked 1/4 of my bandwidth cap in 2 patches. I'm as big a fan of NS as anyone, to those asking "omg why buy alpha if you have cap priorororoitise MAN": Wanted to support UWE in their efforts to bring NS2 to fruition, and no, im not asking UWE to slow their progress on NS2 just for little old me. Jesus christ, i'm not nearly as big an egomaniac and some of you lot, who will remain nameless. And yeah dux, i love you too. kiss kiss.

As for the people laughing their heads off at the fact that, in this day and age, people have bandwidth caps: i think you just pissed off an entire continent of NS players with your ignorance.

Moving to NTL or chorus isnt an option for me, where im living, it's either o2 or nothing.

If my original post came off as a little narky, then for that i apologise, never my intention to be a complete prick, however, i'm working on limited resources here.

    Unlimited

To be fair though, it's only selected exchanges.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I had a look and hurray, I can sign up to that. I still prefer cable though for the speed. I'm probably too far from the exchange to receive a decent rate.
