Trouble ?

Hey just brought the SE of NS2, ran it through steam put settings to "ridiculously Crap" Created my own game jumped on. All really choppy and laggy. When i fire the shooting sound is constant and does not stop so it pretty much loops every Sound effect made. I'm not sure if i am doing anything wrong or what but HELP ?




CPU: AMD 64 4000+ "2.41 Ghz"
Graphics: 7800 GTX Nvidia
Ram: 3 Gig
Windows XP

Its the <b>pre-alpha</b>, the purpose of it is to test physics and maps and other tools ect... not to actually play it as the game, that starts tomorrow when the <b>alpha</b> releases

The Alpha isn't out yet. You're running the engine test.

In case you're wondering. The Alpha is still not the full game. It is a more evolved engine test, which should indeed run somewhat smoother and has more stuff to fool around with as well...

As for the engine test everyone getting the same thing? Hopefully my system specs are good enough to even enjoy the game. :D

Indeed, the alpha is basically the test for the REAL test, before the game
Pre-alpha > Alpha > Beta > Release
And maybe multiple open and closed betas, but everyone should get the idea

Rightio was a bit shocked i guess seeing as today is 26th, so had a fright with the performance. Over all anyone know the Recommended specs to run the game on high performance, i've seen the spec which is on the main website but anyone know anything else besides that so far ?

Flayra said recently in an interview that he wishes to keep the system specs as low as possible and close to what they are already listed as. Yet, he also said things could change, and he'd hate to have to raise the specs.

Anyways, the pre-alpha engine test you just played runs like a dog on most machines. Just sit tight, and wait until we get the Alpha tomorrow.

Yeah seems the best solution to do right now. I guess on the bright side i secured a buy on SE and with Alpha access :)

Fingers crossed in performance wise that the game runs smoothly.
