Can't choose widescreen in Video settings

I can't choose widescreen in Video settings. I am using a laptop, Toshiba Satellite L505.

    Welcome to the days before widescreen was implemented (i.e. HL1).

    I just play with the view stretched.

    That's odd, in video settings across all Half-Life mods I see an options to change the aspect ratio between Normal (4:3) and Widescreen (16:10)... Either one giving you the related resolutions...


    You could also start the game with set launch options in properties, in the steam game library:

    -w 1366 -h 768

    Took that from the specs of your laptop ;)

    Really? Well, I guess NS1 just doesn't have it 'cause I've never seen the option to switch to widescreen.

    Yea that set launch options thing did not work, and widescreen is still not selectable... any more ideas? ><

    It seems the max res of you laptop isn't supported, the closest widescreen available is

    -w 1280 -h 800


    My bad :P

    Still odd you guys don't the see pulldown menu called "Display Mode" on the Video tab right underneath the Renderer pulldown menu (Software/OpenGL/D3D) though...

    Your help is def. appreciated but when I put either of those resolutions into launch options it doesn't switch to widescreen... still empty black space on left and right side of monitor.
