As the title says I would like to know if performance has increased from Engine Test to alpha, I mean the Engine Test is unplayable for me!
Here is my windows performanceindex maybe u could tell me, if i am able to play(it's german but i think you can guess wat is wat)

Not saying we can all get 60fps, but it should be much less rough.

Yeah, no doubt about that.
Its the first release of an alpha build ... It will get better with time, but it will take time.
You should expect all sorts of things to go wrong, especially with the first build. Not being able to jump, guns that wont fire, messed up hitboxes, loud/annoying sounds, frequent crashes ... about the worst things game wise you can imagine.
Then you can be pleasantly surprised when you're not one of those people that will have issues. Because there will be.
And they will be in the forums.

Yes. Hark all ye fools. Remember these times, for they will be the fondest of your NS2 memories.
Quoted for emphasis.

Does this mean... involuntary backdoor jail love???
Well, I did specify 'game wise'.
Though ... if those are the types of games you are playing .... I suppose so?
Don't worry, I wont judge!
Yeah. I can fix the rifle shot thing with the lua hack people have talked about, but a few of the textures (which I assume are decals) do flicker. Other than that, I get a hiccup when I enter a big room or turn a corner quickly. Settings on high running on a 3-year-old computer that wasn't even top of the line 3 years ago, great performance.
That's why I assume that any crippling performance problems are probably due more to driver compatibility than actual hardware limitations.
I'm on an i7 with no issues at all, runs smooth as silk.

No. It will never be updated ever and will always be this laggy/slow. You should just ask for a refund. They have not been working on the game at all since the engine test and are simply partying in the Bahamas every day.
I know that they will optimize the performance, but in most cases the developers optimize the performance in the end stage of developement!
My question is if they fixed it already so STFU ty -.-
PS: You cant get a refund when ur key is bound with Steam

The engine test won't be fixed. It's not the alpha. The engine test is just a one time deal. The alpha will replace it.
The alpha version of the game is more playable in comparison to the engine test. It will be fixed continually on a large scale once testers get their hands on it. Eventually it'll be fixed enough that we move to beta.

I meant the alpha thanks for your answer =)
The alpha will most certainly be fixed :D
It'll just take some time. When we get into beta, most driver/graphics/compatibility issues should be fixed. The alpha will be buggy. That's what testers are for :D
The have not been working on the game since they released the Engine test?
Maybe you should look around for a 'NEWS' tab and click on it. Then you will see the work they have done since the Engine was released. If you still think that they haven't been working on the game then I suggest you go away. You are obviously not impressed with this game so (If you bought it) get a refund. If not, shut up.
Yes? Thanks.

Hmm, sounds like your sarcasm detector is broken. ;)
To be fair, Glimmerman was overly mean for an honest question.
To be fair, it was obvious sarcasm.
It was mean sarcasm, you're right.
Seriously did you just say an engine test of NS2 is better then Crysis?
I think you meant to say that, the engine test is AS DEMANDING as Crysis, and that's about it :P
It seems to be a trend, he/she's missed obvious sarcasm in other threads as well. May not be a native English speaker.

The engine test is nowhere near as demanding as Crysis, it just has more software-specific glitches than a well-tested engine. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I can run the engine test almost flawlessly on high on a 3-year-old computer that wasn't even top-of-the-line 3 years ago. Try doing that with Crysis on max.
edit: to be fair, a lot of that probably also has to do with being able to have pretty aggressive occlusion culling for a game based around indoor hallways and corridors. You can avoid a lot of extra rendering without sacrificing any aesthetics.
It wasn't working XD
I needed to put in new batteries ^-^
