It's the assumption that PC gaming is superior to all other gaming (i.e. consoles) and yet we're losing out on uber games. We were here first, we have better controls, etc.
Really though if we want to discuss this further, please make another thread. The original posts' answer was answered.

I don't understand how me paying for a game and a feature that was promised to me is asking for too much.
I was more than willing to dish out the 40 dollars for the feature as I do want to support them for what I believe will be an amazing game but then the bundle came about which happened to be the same price.

Chances are, you wont want to play alpha, I've tried betas before, and they were bug riddled enough, I can only shiver in the fetal position at the thought of how bugged an alpha is.
NS2 is NOT being released on the 26th. It's simply going into alpha testing. Those of us who payed double the price as a show of support to UW, will be included in the process. That's all there is to it.

And so you should enter with a tester's mindset, not a "OMG let's all play" mindset.

Usually a beta build is one that is feature-complete and has undergone preliminary testing (an alpha build is mostly untested and missing features). Often a lot of the major bugs have been sifted out, especially if it's making its rounds to the public. Either way, there's no rule that says alpha and beta builds must be riddled with bugs, it's just more likely that they are. Either way, it really all depends on the job the developers have done. As a former tester for EA's mobile division I can tell you that there are some alphas that are much better than others. If the developers are doing their jobs well (and at this point, it really looks like they are) then there shouldn't be cause for alarm. There are going to be bugs, but I doubt that many, if any, of them will be game-ruining.

I've considered it, but I'd likely just idle and not say much.
if you want to say hi, play games, or .. w/e - feel free to add me.
