Personally I have been playing NS 1 for many many years and I was more than willing to pay $40 for the preorder. For me, I would have payed that and more for all of the enjoyment that I have gotten from NS 1. Getting a second game from unknown worlds for the low price of $40 is just a bonus. Keep up the great work guys, there are a bunch of us in the NS 1 community looking forward to this game. I can't wait for alpha!

I'd like to do a periodic steam-like promotion where you can download and play NS2 free for 48 hours, to try it out. After this, it would cost money. This would be very helpful for showing it to friends.

Cheaper? This game has infinite replay value and by comparison it's less than half the cost of brand new retail games out there.

    Get a job.

Really post-release the only reason for SE would be black armor. The real reason most bought it so far was for alpha access, or out of gratitude for NS1.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Natural selection is one of those great games that I always came back to play, ever sense it was released.

So buying the SE is a great way to say thanks, and give something back to the team that gave us such a great game.

and I also had to have a black suit.

I heard this worked very well for TF2.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    I disagree.

Valve has the resources to afford to do this. You don't over stretch yourself.

Yeah, I think a free weekend is quiet expensive. If it wouldn't be, we would see more of them ;)

Hehe, I find it funny that "an engine switch" is looked down upon by OP... Even if it was just an engine switch (which it isn't with their own Spark engine and all), it would still be a hell of a lot of work!

Lowering a price could also have an adverse effect as in, pfft this can't be good at such a low price...

Free weekends and Steam Summer/Holliday Sale are their best bet (I think I saw someone mentioning it while skimming trough this one)
