    Hoping fairly soon. I still have a few areas to touch up and am trying to decide if I should add in a node nearby each of the closest expansion tech points. Also need to add in a few more vents and verify way points for bot pathing. Occlusion geometry has to go in too but the new system isn't quite ready yet. Here's the latest overview shot:

    You need to make it clear where the blue lighting is coming from on that engine picture, it looks so bizzare.

    I agree, I think some cinematic effects to bring it together. They have some pretty cool ones in the latest build with some interesting light rays that may work well with that.

    Yeah cinematics are definitely planned. I've considered putting little bulbs of sorts to act as the blue light sources, but I do like the way the lighting looks on the generator. I've still been working a bunch on the southwestern part of the map but would like to soon shift focus and try to work on the areas around power core since they are currently the most unfinished. There's also a lot of polishing I want to do as its pretty obvious walking around in the map where some of my first rooms where (ventilation chamber comes to mind, also fluid transfer needs more detail, etc).

    Yeah been redoing some parts near power core and trying to work out a couple layout issues that have been bugging me (lack of floor height variation in some areas and making sure you can't camp any tech points from too far away). I've been busy with my job so progress has been a little slow but it would be nice to try and get some gameplay feedback soon. Occlusion geometry still needs to go in too but it's not working yet so I have time :p

    Yeah I'm a little concerned mainly about the western part of the map being spaced apart too much and not maintaining enough importance. I do however have some ideas for a few interconnecting hallways and a bunch of vents. My other concern is that power core acts as too much of a natural marine expansion and shipping & receiving too much as the alien expansion. I know this is a bit like how tram plays but fear it might limit a commander's strategical choices? Guess we won't really know until some games get played :)

    Appreciating the feedback guys going to try and get into a mapping spree again and see if I can turn out some more progress.

    Hey everyone I stopped updating this thread for a while but haven't gone anywhere :) So after making some rather large layout changes and reworking much of the lighting I think it's time to start getting some games going!

    And some notes:
    -Vents are not complete. I need to add a bunch more and change the one going to fluid transfer.
    -Fluid transfer hive is going to be reworked quite a bit.
    -Some of the hallways are temporary and will either be improved or redone depending on how they play.
    -Haven't designed the ready room yet.

    Nice work! Cant wait to play it! But just by running around i mentioned that there are many really small corridors. Those might be badly unfriendly to oni. But we will see.

    The design i really like! the light-colors you used i havent seen often in other maps. Atmosphere is great!

    Although I've tested walking through the map as onos and not getting stuck, I do share the same concern. The tightest areas seem to be around the southwestern part of the map and also east access. These areas are planned to be enlarged if not totally redone. I'm also considering enlarging excavation service access a bit.

    Also curious about the auto map downloads as well. That would sure help getting people to play :)

    You still have to manually download it at the moment if you would like to play unfortunately. But all you have to do is extract the zip file he provided into the C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Natural Selection 2\ns2 folder and it will work for you fine.
