Vision during bite/fire

I'm generally against obscuring a players vision at all, but it must be said that the Skulk bit will make him blind for a quarter second or so, just wondering if the rine lmg will be balanced for that or whether the rine guns will feature muzzle flash that will obscure portions of the screen when he fires.
not sure how to balance a complete loss of vision during an attack which is what a skulk deals with. thoughts appreciated.

1) The balance has already been achieved in NS
2) Gameplay before realism
3) See #1, it most definitely causes obstruction and has been deliberately part of the game since removal of r_drawviewmodels
To summarize, it works in its current form and there's nothing to suggest NS2 will see changes to either.
ok have you played ns1?
Don't fix what isn't broken.
Uhm, I hope you realise that removing them has been banned in competition since 1.02 or 1.03.. or should we start reviewing the screenshots from your matches in ENSL? :/
I had more problems with aiming the damn thing in NS1 than I did with it blocking the view.
Yes, and I only remember the screen getting jolted as a marine. Muzzle flash was nothing imo.

See mine and tsojan's posts. flash/bite obstruction is fairly significant, to the point of being regulated by CAL/ENSL/NS2.x. If you've ever played NS1.x with r_drawviewmodel 0 you'd know just how much of an advantage it can be.
bwaahahahaaah *wipes eyes*
but seriously, r_drawviewmodel has been taken out of NS. completely.
In any case, drawviewmodels are blocked at 1 in NS1 and all possible workarounds are shady at best, so expect to see the same stance in NS2.
As it was said before, Don't fix what isn't broken.
Name a better FPS game that's been out for less than a decade.
The major contenders are Modern Warfare, L4D, World at War, aaaand...Modern Warfare again. Think I'll stick with TF2.
