Maybe... a Devour ability.

I like how all 3 of posts are all in reference to the same topic, i.e. crying how NS2 lacks devour.
Immobilizing attacks suck, well maybe not for you onos-###### :P

Chances are that if you were close enough to get devoured, you were already dead.
6 on 6, 3 Onos devouring 3 Marines. Limit 1-2 Onos on a team, gg problem solved.
In other words... No devour, one of the most fun features of the game = No buy
Limiting other abilities while devouring a marine would be quite a good way to go about it. NOTHING made a marine as terrified when watching an Onos go zooming in, snag up one of their squad members only to zoom off again. It was fun both on the Marine side and the Alien side.
I'm disappointed in you, Devs, to remove one of the most unique traits of your game... The 'fun' aspect.
However, considering how overpowered Boneshield sounds, Devour is going to be the least of the complainers to worry about. I can hear the tears dripping on the pavement already.

Hmm how to deal with the onos boneshield. Well the funny aspect is that this actually immobilizes the onos so he can protect his team that's cowering behind him. And there are ways of dealing with such armor... The pistol and shotgun are armor-piercing and if they are, then guess how much more powerful a minigun to the face is. Or we can skip the whole "kill-the-bone-shield-immobolized-onos", by firing off some nerve gas grenades behind the barrier. Also i hear that it's only the onos's head that's armored... so you can attack his UN-ARMORED sides.
Devour was one of the most fun attacks in NS. It wasn't that all that easy to pull off (lots of noobs would miss with devour), and it gave the onos a great counter to the jetpackers. Plus, it made good use of the stomp ability.
Massive shame it's not going to be in NS2. I don't think there's a single multiplayer FPS game where you can swallow an enemy player and run off with them in your stomach and either digest them to death or have them set free when you die. So this was very much a unique bit of gameplay in NS.

Unique doesn't always equal fun.
There have been plenty of arguments about devour in the past, and I suggest people look them up.
