I got bored one night and took a random game's theme that totally wouldn't fit a modern style and "touched it up"...and yes, it's meant to be a joke.
Unfortunately, them elvish folk hold dearly to their beloved magic music. O_O

So, the real question is....while people play beautiful music on the piano, why does exorcist come to my head to doodle with? o-o

It's the theme from an anime i watch. i linked you the instrumental version. Should you need mp3's don't hesitate to let me know.
Really?
Mostly because they tend to not use the more canonical US chords and like to throw in dissonance? Or is it just the weird beats they like/ multiple instruments?
Just trying to understand your thinking.

Mostly because a lot of their melodies aren't truly connected to the next and the music becomes very random. Sometimes it's effective, sometimes not, but it's difficult to see where the song is leading to, so you quite literally have to take it one small part at a time. I play by ear nearly 100%, so when a song style doesn't follow patterns and are broken in multiple places, it's hard to follow.
I'm not saying that style is wrong, but it's just difficult to follow, is all.
Good luck with these :)
EDIT: might want to edit out your email address to keep the spam fairies away.
Not that the music is bad or anything, just I was expecting tales of Elves destroying forts after you cut down to many trees.

Fixed that for you.
It was the sad face that made me think the elves raped him.
Sorry. I mean western (i.e. European, and by permeation US) chordal progressions and structure are different than the underlying sounds of most Eastern cultures. It's what makes Oriental music sound a bit more Oriental.
Granted, humans all naturally have a similar sense of music, i.e. pentatonics seems to be almost genetically hardcoded. But Bach and Chopin have a different application of sounds, chord composition, and scales than Asiatic artists. So, someone who's grown up only on Western styles may have a bit of extra trouble matching the Oriental chords to the keyboard. But it's doable.
See Mario music.
