first NSOT mention of podcast since Aug 2008!
What are y'all favorite podcasts? Here are the ones I'm currently listening to:

Radio Lab. NPR science-y podcast about random topics. Jad's voice is strangely addicting.

The bugle. Humour* podcast about world sports, world politics, and bad puns. Also, hearing "HAAAAALLLOOOOOO BUUUGLERS" Monday morning on the bus to work is priceless.

Idle Thumbs. Video game podcast that tends to more about video game stories than the games them selves. It has caused me to laugh too hard in public numerous times.

Hardcore History Less intimidating than it sounds, I've never been so interested in listening to history.

Common Sense. It's the same guy as Hardcore History, but he talks about current political issues. His political leaning is Independent. To classify it any further than that is difficult.

Three Moves Ahead. Everything strategy games. RTS, TBS, PC, console, specific games, genres, development, game mechanics, everything. And by some of the best reviewers/journalists in the industry on strategy games. Plus they sometimes bring on a developer.

Non-Prophets - Atheism related issues, mainly American news, a hint of philosophy and the like. Not too serious and it's fun stuff to listen to, if the subject interests you.

That's the only podcast I've listened to. I'll definitely keep a close eye on what this thread provides.

My three favorite podcasts in order:

This American life - They have a new theme for every week, and tell stories for each of them. I.e. the economy, infidelity, college partying. They always have very entertaining stories.

The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe - They talk about science news and criticize pseudoscience like homeopathy. Entertaining panel, they don't mind offending people they disagree with.

Planet Money - They give really good explanations about the trouble the economy is in in a cheerful matter.

I occasionally listen to the Scientific American podcast, The moth and the Freakonomics podcast.

Necromancing this thread, because the contents are still valid and I have a great contribution.

Caustic Soda - The podcast that takes on disturbing topics and breaks them down into a bubbling pool of funny!
The most recent episode I listened to was about blizzards. I've worked my way up from the older ones, and covered topics like slavery, killer robots, bears and explosions. They discuss, find stories, statistics and news about their topics and people dying in horrible ways while being completely lighthearted about it. Really funny and interesting.

My Brother, My Brother and Me - I concur with the endorsement given here. Three brothers giving great (terrible) advice to people who are idiots and/or in need of guidance. I was just sitting on the couch with my brain wife, saying I should come and give this thread a bump.

The YoGPoD - A dormant podcast, although it's been promised to receive more episodes. Chances are you've heard of the Yogscast, most likely from their Youtube channel(s). The podcast is about Simon and Lewis, two british guys, talking with each other about all kinds of random stuff in a very (at least stereotypically) british manner. If you start listening from the first episode, the sound and overall quality does get better. I loved it from the very first episode though.

Astronomy Cast - As the name might suggest, the podcast is about all things astronomy. If you're interested in our own planetary system, you can find episodes about each of the planets and some of the more notable moons. If you're into the very heavy sciency stuff, you can find episodes about relativity, quantum mechanics and string theory. Pulsars, black holes, galaxies and quasars; topics already covered in older episodes.

I also recommend all the podcasts in the first post (except Common Sense, because I haven't listened to it yet) as well as the Skeptics Guide to the Universe.

Bombcast - Video Game podcast made up of the guys who left Gamespot after the whole Kane & Lynch thing. Often ridiculous, always hilarious.

This is Only a Test - Technology podcast discussing all things tech. Whitta is a bit of an apple fanboy but they still know their ######.

I've started listening to Jordan, Jesse, Go! from the Maximumfun podcasts. Not immediately my favourite, but not bad either. Still, I encourage all of you to listen to Caustic Soda.

Also, yay for Idle Thumbs! I pledged in for the kickstarter thing, and I have access to the Progress casts. Good stuff :T

Besides a few the other have already mentioned (Bombcast, mBmBam) I'm quite into The Joe Rogan Experience.

It can get quite vulgar and perhaps delves a bit too far and often into the nitty gritty of the American comedic circuit and MMA at times, but for the most part they get a pretty broad spectrum of guests on there and talk about a wide variety of interesting ######, never really locked into any specific subject matter or censored along the way. Not for the faint of heart however.

StarTalk with Neil DeGrasse Tyson. My favorite podcast :) Talks about all kinds of topics relating to the cosmos, whether it's astronomy, chemistry, physics, sports, fashion, music, business, etc. Really good show.

Common Sense and Hardcore History with Dan Carlin. This man can tell stories like no one else.

Joe Rogan. He can kind of be crazy at times, but usually very entertaining.

Stuff You Should Know. Basically, HowStuffWorks.com in podcast form.

Irrational behaviour. A podcast made by the dev team at Irrational Games, including many ex-Looking Glass people. Pretty interesting.
