<div class="IPBDescription">Amazing Cry Engine 2 Art Project</div>This looks incredible. It's not a game, but a guy using the engine for an art project.

Shoot, I guess we're not too far off from high quality amateur animated movies. The only reason to increase team size would be for voice actors. If something like GMod could look this good, anyway.

Alright, amazingly detailed modeling/mapping and such... But I still say BLOOM sucks :P

I knew the art style was kind of familiar; this is the guy who made the 3 original maps for BrainBread, that awesome Half-Life mod. I loved the way he incorporated complexity back then and it still looks good today. Not to mention CryEngine 2 is hot stuff.

I know what Zoiks means I... it's just...

It's like me saying "Zounds!" or "Gadzooks!" or something.

Also the main link doesn't work unless you're logged in now (it did earlier). I *think* this guy was featured in PCGamer UK a few months ago, but I'm not sure. The concept definitely sounds and looks familiar.

    And it's awesome.

Zoiks is for people who obviously don't remember Shaggy said "Zoinks!".

Yes, PLEASE mirror them if possible.
Forums that do this need to be set on fire!

Unless of course, it was the mod makers decision?

That's his gallery that was also linked in the main post, which I found before the board locked (still had the page open in a tab when I found out, woo)

Saw this linked in a bunch of places, so it's no doubt locked to give the servers a break.

Not to be bash-full, but there is something unappealing with those images. I can't say what though, still great high quality work.

    Unholy !!

You know what.. I want Elder scrolls V to look exactly like this.. and have 300 hours of gameplay and side quests, haha !

I'd pay any price for that kinda game.

On topic, this guy is really talented.

Wow, that's pretty good. The attention to detail's great, and I love the way buildings are piled on top of each other like that.

If I had one criticism, it would be that the mishmash of architectural styles sometimes makes the scene chaotic and hard to read, but mostly it's handled very well.

Kinda hard to see but if the fretwork isn't simply a normal and alpha mapped plane it certainly should be, it would add far too much to the polycount otherwise and would be terrible conservation of detail.

Other than that it's quite good.

Screw conservation of detail and performance. He wanted to make pretty pictures. They are pretty.

He said something along the lines of "It isn't a game, and it isn't for a game, however if you were to run around in it you would have perfectly fine frame rates".

NOW you tell me. /awkward face

I wouldn't call 12-20 FINE framerates but, yeah, not a game and he said he COULD optimize it further if he wished.
