The GalCiv2 pack for £7 is a tempter. That's the one where combat is out of your hands though, right? Think that was the only thing that put me off the original.

More specifically, it's a pure 4X. So, the fights are run by the random number generators, but you get to do all the specs of the battle group composition and build your own ships using the latest techs. I mean, if you want, you can also watch the shiny explosions be animated, but it doesn't make a difference.

Hmm has the sale ended already? I went back to the site to buy the GalCiv2 pack but it's back up to £27.
