Rather than making technical posts on the NS2 blog, I've decided a better venue would be a personal blog. If you're interested in that sort of thing, you can find it here: http://www.m4x0r.com. The first post is something old, but I expect to be posting about NS2 work soon.

Despite the terrible, terrible domain name (:P), should be an interesting read.

Yay blend masks, they're awesome, one of the best things source can do if you ask me.

Neat, I've been messing with texture blending using the vertex color. I've been trying to figure out how to do that blend range, I'm pretty sure I came up with a much slower way to do it so your post could help me there.

    Win.

On another note: Are you planning on writing a book about your experiences with Spark, Max!?

Are there going to be announcements in the NS2 twitter feed for new Max blog posts?

I don't think he should make updates in Twitter about his blog unless its specifically NS2 related. Otherwise, we might get those annoying trolls who complain about wanting the NS2 Twitter feed to only be about NS2 related stuff. It happened to Eskil Steinberg (quelsolaar.com) on his blog when he posts content not related to his game, I don't see why it wouldn't happen here as well.

Max should just cave and get a Twitter account :D.

    There has been an update-

So i guess this means we won't have a specular colour parameter in the light entities then, although if you're pulling them all from the diffuse textures I guess you wouldn't reallly need it as you'd get a better result anyway.

Hopefully we still get a specular intensity parameter because some lights shouldn't have speculars.

Or perhaps a way to screw around with which color specular the material reflects? Not super realistic, but would be interesting to mess with.

Also, yay for not having white highlights as your bloom/specular everywhere. So much pain on me eyes.
