Testing system load

Well, I was running Engine Test just now, when something dawned on me... It was all eerily quiet...

Next to now fan hum at all. Despite less than acceptable framerate, neither graphics card nor CPU seemed to have been doing much at all.

Is there any objective way to test this? I know CPU load can be checked via task manager (50% at all times for me), but what about memory and GPU?

Some GPU cards come with monitoring software.

For Memory and CPU I use the Google Desktop System Monitor Gadget most of the time.

I recently looked into this matter aswell. My prob was finding an app that showed BOTH cpu and gpu in same G15 window.
Im using speedfan with a G15 plugin so I can monitor both CPU and GPU in same window. Also Voltages.

..or wait.. we werent talking bout temperatures where we?

I use everest to display my CPU and GPU Loads on my G15

When running around shooting etc I get around 30-40fps, sometimes dropping to 10ish for a few seconds:

    GPU Loads (max not average)

    45% GPU1
    40% GPU2

    CPU Loads (max not average)

    60% Core 1
    40% Core 2
    20% Core 3
    20% Core 4

    Running a q9550 (Stock) with a 4870x2
