ns_RagnA (layout)

<div class="IPBDescription">map layout</div>This is not the name of my map, I just had no imagination whatsoever right now. I tried making something simple and easy to start with. Iv been screwing around with editors for a long time but never managed to see a project through. Im hoping I can do it right for this one. I wanted the opinion of other people before I started putting more effort into this. I hate putting hours of work to realise the final product is terribly flawed. So there it is. As you can see its a simple layout with 5 Tech points and 6 resource nodes. This will probably be a fast paced map with a lot of action on the center tech point. You can also notice I started putting some detail in the alien spawn but quickly came to my senses and realised I should make a layout before moving on, heh.

Alright, shoot me with suggestions! (not bullets)

I like the middle part there as well as your corridors (the one main one with lots of offshoots)

The res nodes however look bias towards the marines? Maybe not on second thought.
However the res node up the top corridor from the main tech point, is there going to be stairs or elevation? Otherwise not much could stop marines shooting and dominating that entire corridor and taking out the res node.

Pretty hard to give any criticism, looks good to me! Are you planning vents?

Yes I forgot to add the vents in the layout. They are planned, I just havent put them in yet. Its the kind of thing I can wait until later to implement. Ill find some way to obstruct the view so marines cant shoot off aliens in long corridors. Btw, the map is symmetrical if you look carefully, so the res nodes should be well placed. Its kind of hard to gage since I havent figured how to run the map in game.

Looks good. Will be important to think about line of sight and movement in the central corrridor.
To load a map in game first copy the map to the map folder under your ns2 directory (not near an installed copy to give the full path) and when u load a lan game go to console and type map and then your map name - for example "map ns_RagnA" and the map will load. Make sure you have a marine start in your map before hand.
