Hey,

I've created this topic so we can gather in one places all the commons bugs and things that are not fixed/implemented yet
Here's my topic on the getsatisfaction with more details:

Can't you just use the mantis bug tracker?

Well I though that a topic was the best way to inform players, because not all the player know how a bug tracker works

It's an engine test, so remove all the crap that are gameplay related, because they are Not issues.

Okay with my Killer Xeno NIC I must put the NIC driver into compatibility mode in order to play the game. If I run it in game mode the game will not start. In game mode I end up with a crosshair on the screen and text in the upper left corner but nothing else. So anyone who has a killer NIC and hasn't tried this I suggest it. I am running with the latest drivers on the Xeno NIC.

Well the idea of showing gameplay related is to redirect all the players that are asking for it in many different topics

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but for some reason I will randomly have my direct keys stick - not physically of course... for example one game Whenever I hit a sidestep key I'd always sidestep left - the obvious fact being I was hitting the sidestep right key. And the keys were mapped properly.

There's a lot of people crashing with a "Out of Memory" error. (so do I)
You guys should look into that, I managed to launch the game but on quality 0 and via editing the options.xml file.

    Quality 0 = like Quake 2 :D

    I'm running this on:
    XP-32bit(Media Edition)
3GB (6 if I would stop being cheap and upgrade to a 64bit OS) DDR3 RAM
    i7 920 @2.67GHz
    ATI 4890
Its been at least 6 months since I formatted my hard drive (500GB) and I haven't defragged in a long time so my hard drive is probably quite a bit slower than it should be.

    Crashes/bugs so far:
1 - Game crashes after alt-tabbing out and back in. The first time this happened the bug reported came up and the game exited after the bug was submitted. The second time, the game came back up but was merely a blank, black screen. I could presumably move/shoot (I could hear the gun firing when clicking the mouse) but I couldn't see anything. This happens for me on several different games so it could just be my computer being strange.

My fraps benchmarking came up with the following results on the Range #2 map:
    Frames: 1280
    Time: 23588ms
    Min FPS: 34
    Max FPS: 65
    Avg FPS: 54.265

I'd also like to add 2 items to your list of things not yet implemented/enabled. First, the ammunition counter on the gun resets to 30 as soon as the reload sequence/animation is initiated rather than when the new magazine is inserted into the gun. The other is that the player's gun has no collision with objects. If you run into a wall, the gun simply goes inside of the wall.

Other than that, the engine test runs perfectly smoothly on my computer.

I have a Win7 x64 machine, with a 8800GT driver version 8.16.11.9107. So far a very successful engine test with minor bugs (I am ready to play the alpha :) )
    1) I have a strange rendering issue. It causes a 1-3 sec lag every once in a while. If I am watching my FPS in the upper left corner it goes like 50-60 to 0, then slowly comes back up, while it is frozen the fps counter doesn’t update, but when it refreshes the first time you can see like 0.01 FPS for a moment. I have tried turning off shadows, and that didn’t seem to help. I have also turned on wireframe mode, and can tell that nothing extra seems to be loading when it happens. It doesn’t just occur just as I enter a new area (so its not a loading problem). I can see it locally and when I play with other people over the network. When it does freeze, the whole rendering stops, and I cant even move my mouse to look around. Also this only occurs when it is set on high, on low or medium it works just fine without any issues, but as I usually avr about 50-60 fps when it isn’t glitching I don’t think this is just bad hardware.
    2) If I Alt+Tab out of the game while the game is in full screen mode and then tab back it, it comes back as a black square in the upper left corner, and doesn’t work.
    3) If I am in a vent and I jump, I go through the ceiling, and can see to the next room through the wall.
    4) The numpad on the right doesn’t work at all, would be nice at least for the console to enter ip addresses.
    5) Crouching is broken, but I kind of assume you know that.
    6) The net code could use a few tweaks, but mostly seems ok (at least through alpha).
    7) There are slight problem with some of the dynamic lightning that is kinda goofy dealing with occlusion culling or some distance calculation. Clearly this doesn’t need to be fixed before alpha. If I am looking at an area, I don’t see any shadows, and then when I move just a little closer, all of a sudden shadows appear. What I would recommend is having a few objects (as set by the map designer) not cull as easily so that the effect isn’t as evident.

ill chalk off 2 more cards for you, tested it on my alienware m17x, with all 3 cards 9400m and duel 260m gtx

it works on the 9400m with no errors that i can tell but it is incredibly slow 5-10fps but not surprised at that. tested at 1920x1200 on incredibly crap detail
with a single 260m gtx low fps (25-35) also in sli mode performance shows no improvement but with both single and sli modes there was no noticeable errors, tested at 1920x1200 on high detail.

    qx9300
    6gb ddr3
    9400m (powersaving), 2x 260m gtx's on 195.62 drivers
    windows 7 x64

*edit* retested with 197.16 drivers perfrormance roughly the same and again no noticeable errors

    i7 920(@2.66)
    8800 gts 320
    Windows 7 64-bit
    3GB DDR3 RAM
    Raptor HDD 300GB

Yeah I'm upgrading the card as soon as the 480gtx is available at retailers.

Anyways on about Medium settings I get around 30-40 FPS. On high it goes into 25, sometimes a bit lower.

One issue in the menu is that at first I can see the skulk looping his walking animation in the top left as he's coming out of the vent, and he actually doesn't come out of the vent until a certain period of time. I'm just wondering if this was just a cinematic error. Also when the builder bot reaches a position on the catwalk, my frames freeze for about a second, and he teleports to a position infront of him and continues along his movement path.

Most of the issues that I noticed are stated above. The only other thing I could add, is when you're out of ammo, there's no sound que for when your clip is empty. *click click*

I also went into the maps provided in the editor. I noticed a bunch of sound entity positions around the map, and was just wondering if there's supposed to be sounds coming from them. I don't hear anything.

Also would like to mention, I loved seeing the Ready Room on the DM2 map.

I can confirm that the engine works with a 4870x2 on win7 64 However there is a bug due to crossfire

The shadows caused by the dynamic lighting (through the vents, the spinning fans etc) all flicker when crossfire is enabled

    Disabling crossfire solves this issue

    3) Well in the Pre-alpha you shouldn't be ablt to go in vents that why they may have not finished it
    4) Like I've added in my first post the pre-alpha is a engine test so they turn off or did not enabled some things
    5) There was a post from a NS2 developper saying that they had enabled only the "criticals" movement settings + some firing

I'm running a GTX 260 on Vista 64. Game runs fine.

One thing I noticed with physics. If you jump into something in the roof (ie light fixture) it doesn't stop the player model. You go right through it as if it isn't there.

I had a bug, where when I pressed s to walk backwards, it went forward.
I checked this many times and it kept doing it (so I didn't press w accidentally).
I fixed it by pressing Esc and returning.
My friend also had this problem.

Just though I'd come in here with a rig that gives a rather good frame rate.

    i7 920 - Oc'd to 3.8Ghz

    GTX 260 Oc'd

    DDR3 Tri-channel - 3 gigs

    Windows 7 32 bit ( :( )

Running at a consistent 50+ FPS.

It appears that the Spark engine is incredibly CPU dependent.

Also had that problem, but it fixed itself with the solution you said there.
