Ok, so I spent some time yesterday exercising my pathetic Photoshop skills to make a new profile pic, and here's what I came up with...

    Quick, to the Lerkcave! I like it, but I'd use a softbrush for the shading, would make it look nicer/fluid (also new Lerk is purple :P)

    It's not only girls he draws, there are some nice tuts on coloring and shading in there as well, well at least he explains what he's doing and shows it. Apparently he just uses the two default brushes in photoshop for most of his work, hard and softbrush (the first two in the list), there's a vid on there where he goes trough his brush settings as well...

    nice work I agree with kouji san that the shading can be worked on

    excellent suggestion too, that guy gives some excellent landscape pointers too :) Ive been using his tutorials to help me improve my landscapes :D

    I'm trying to track down an extra wacom tablet that's supposedly floating around between some of my friends/family, hopefully that will improve things a bit (couldn't seem to draw a non-wobbly line or curve to save my life )

    I'll keep practicing when I get free time...thanks for the feedback!

    A small tip on that would be to work in a larger resolution then your final image, that way when you scale down the wobbly lines will be smoother :P

    I also found out that holding the shift key will let me draw straight lines on the fly...I can simulate a smooth curve by making enough short segments

    and yes, I was working in a much larger resolution, considering I was only making a forum profile pic (90x90 max, I think) :P

    Anyway, I think I'll be able to do much better next try
