Anyone else playing it?
I was excited about this game for a very long time but the demo left me very underwhelmed. Anyway, my gf arrived home from town with it yesterday and we sat down to have a quick look at it at around 5pm. We got so into it that we skipped dinner, ate a quick snack and played right through till about 10:30pm. The game is very different to what I originally expected, but I had never played Indigo Prophecy ( Fahrenheit in the US I think ) or any other game like this before.

The game really gets your heart pumping at times.. especially some of the dream/hallucination sequences. There are four characters you play, and apart from the FBI agent they are all compelling in their approach to problems and their thoughts, and I'm sure the FBI character will be a late bloomer too.

So, anyone else playing it, what do you think?

NO SPOILERS PLEASE!

My coworker brought it to the office and we spent several very late nights here playing through it. Was really well done the whole way through. I'll probably start it again soon and go through it (since I missed a few parts of it).

I'd love to play this but alas, no PS3. This is the first game I've really actually wanted to play on the PS3...

I'm unsure how they would do some of the controls on the PC. It had an interesting way of handling various actions between using the analog sticks to do gestures, or pushing certain buttons (and holding them) in order for various actions. It would definitely have a different feel.

That motion sensing or tilting would be impossible as well :/

Well, in fairness, the control system could have been done with mouse gestures too. I did find the controls annoying when playing the demo, but I have to admit that they add a level of intensity and panic to the game that I wouldn't have thought possible from what appeared to be very clunky on first try.

I'm close to finishing it the first time now... getting very close to figuring the whole mystery out from multiple angles.

I'm blown away by the whole experience. We got home late from work today, but both of us sat down and played it for 3 hours again. If nothing else, this game has given me and my gf a game we can both play addictively for a while.

Now that you're closer to the end, do you find the FBI agent to be more interesting ?

I haven't played the demo, and I have every intention of buying it when I have more free time. I have to finish Assassin's Creed II and The God Of War Collection (the first two games) which I haven't even started yet. Sometime around May the new UFC game comes out and I assume EA will be releasing their fighting game around then as well one which I will pick up. Combine that with the Starcraft 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and any upcoming NS2 and I've got my plate full.

And of course now is when I have the least amount of time for gaming.

Allow me to summarize the previous game:

Movie that your friends get to watch while you panic and rapidly do quick-time events/match the colors. Also, pulled a WTF near the end.

When I checked into Heavy Rain I was pretty pumped. Sadly, I has no PS3, and I also don't see how the majority of the controls would transfer to Pc (which is my only gaming platform). Too bad, I'm a sucker for well-done storytelling.

In related news, a friend of mine bought a PS3 just for this. Well, Heavy Rain and FF13....

That's a hefty price I wouldn't pay for one (this) game, not even for two :P

TV is for discovery and such!

I think he's dead. I can't say why I think that without spoilers, but lets just say his car is dead too.

The following is clearly spoiler text but I'll write it obscure anyhoo

The demo was for a lack of words...terrible and bland. Since it was created from the same people that made Fahrenheit, I decided to take the gamble and I couldn't have been happier!
This is the type of game where people are going to absolutely love it or hate it. It is not intended for the FPS shooting frenzy types and that should be well noted. This game takes thought, intelligence, and the ability to react to situations and deal with the consequences in a friendly way. You cannot lose in this game. If you die, the game moves on like a movie.
Overall I was impressed by the entire way they took the game as it was definitely the most unique game I have ever played, especially for the PS3. The prequel: the taxidermist was not all that exciting and I honestly would not waste your time. I am lucky to have obtained it with my pre-order.

    SPOILER (highlight to read):
The only thing that really stood out in the game was when you are at the clock/typewriter repair place...as it totally made up a part of the story that definitely did not happen. You play the entire scene, yet it shows something completely opposite. The only way it would have happened is if the woman with him, and himself unnoticeably blacked out or activated a split personality. Very weird.

Otherwise, I would recommend this game to anyone who has patience and loves a great story!

Yeah, the demo was daft.. how they thought it was important to show the control system as the main objective of the demo is beyond me.

There are numerous small scenes of high tension/drama that would have been perfect in the demo.

I'm in the "want to play; no ps3" boat =(

Seems like a very different kind of game, and I really like that. Hopefully I can borrow my friend's PS3 and rent it soon

So I finished this game in a /reasonably/ successful way.. though not everyone ended up happy. I have to say, the game was an amazing experience.. but I feel sort of cheated about who the origami killer was.

I gave it the once over before trading it in to HMV (who offered £30 for it). Really impressive, unique experience. Couldn't stomach a second playthrough as ultimately it is just a QTE game.

Same with puzl- the end was a bit "awww come on?!".
