haha - I just noticed something. If you watch the video, you will see the lerk in that spot - and suddenly it diappears just after the camera gets up to where ther Marines are :)

also random comment... when the lerk is shooting spikes in the video they fire away from the camera at a different angle to the 'spike shooter' we see infront of us. hope this is just a cinematic flaw and doesn't translate into gameplay.

I think it might be a combination of cinematic angle and perhaps the path the lerk is taking. EDIT: Watching it again in slowmo, they are going at a bit of a weird angle. But that angle continues on through the whole thing, so not auto-aim. I think it's a bug.
EDIT 2: A quick screencap and minor overlay for where the "center" of the screen is versus where the spikes appear to be going. <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1699204/ns2/lerk%20shot.png" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1699204/ns2/lerk%20shot%201.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The Lerk... It's glorious! Really liked the animation and the head bone is a nice touch. Really look more like an actually living creature. The sound was real good too.
What that a melee attack at the end of the video?
Marines look like they where watching Visor-pr0n or something. Very distracted indeed. :)

i can´t belive people think this is gameplay...lol This is made with the editor, but anyway it looks good. But i wish they create some sharp wings, so you can shoot spikes and hit the enemy marine by just flying close but through them.
Video of Lerk was the worst maden video in those NS2 aliens videos. If you think real games, lol rines are very slow, reaction of lerk is also slow. There can be better videos about it.
On the otherhand, in my opinion wings of lerk should be as long as enough. In some games lerk is able to cary gorges, rines and sometime HA's. So these wings are very small according to aerodynamic rules :). Also in the begining of the games more than 3 lerks are being very powerfull, they are being very fast with MC & internet based lags/spikes etc. It is very hard to kill them. So area of those creatures should be large enough to kill them at least close to a skulk area/volume. May be we can consider largest eagle in the world as below.

Lerk first person view should have his forehead bulk show so it would block part of his upper screen / view (just like skulks mouth view with teeth).

Boo to spikes. A retrograde step in the class design, though, I probably should wait until I play him before making the final judgement. He looks larger and slower, which is a a very good thing, so *maybe* this necessitates the spikes.
I like the cinema trailer, now show us ingame please :P Yeah i know, it takes a while, first the fade must be ingame and of course, the lerk with "good" fly movement.

and ya i won't say what i think those spike guns look like lmao.

Anyway, looking good although the headbone takes time to get used to. I like the spike first person model.

Secondly the lerk is in flight, if there is an offset consider that similar to the recoil effect of a gun.
