It's a freakin pre-alpha, so bear with it for a moment.
And what do you expect boneclaws on steel to sound like after all?

I don't know but not like that :) and this kind is only thing that bothered me on the pre alpha video

I am quite certain this is a place-holder put in the last seconds before recording the video. How do I know? Simple: after watching the footage for the third time, by ears have physically dislodged themselves from my skull moments before the skulk segment came up. I do not see how a human being - assuming developers are human beings - could stand it for any remotely prolonged period of time.

My assumption was that the sound was added solely to persuade the uninformed viewer that the player was actually a multi-limbed moving creature opposed to a floating pair of sharp dentures.

It's not final, as has already been stated in multiple threads.

Well I'm with you there! Only because I own a live skulk and it doesn't sound like that. or maybe it does?

    yeh guys, its not final

i had it turned up loud for testing , we were having issues with the whole quadraped thing, and how to trigger his feet sounds without having him sound like a tapdancing crab
u cant just trigger individual footstep sounds that play closer together the faster he goes, as u can with a biped, his gate changes trot ,gallop ect.. as he goes faster so the rythm of his feet would too, and the animmations can play back at different rates so u cant just use loops per animation,

, this was b4 we had key frames in the animations that can trigger sounds, which is comming in the next few days i belive, which should help alot with timing of the actual step sounds,

but what u hear in the video are just the base claw on metal click sounds, he will also have layers, of gooy muchle movment, breathing as he goes faster ect as part of his movment sound.

Everything not good is a placeholder you never figured it just might be badly made?

I dont think skulk sound was even bad though.

I don't think anything else needs to be said.

Don't wanna know how many days of the alpha-delay are due to devs explaining themselves after releasing information or pre-alpha footage.
