Wouldn't it be cool if the HUD doesn't change when you get into the box and, instead, the walls display all info needed and you have to turn around to see all of the screens?
And it should be called the "Command Center" so we can still call it a CC.

This sounds like an idea people sit back and casually say "oh yeah this would be awesome" to, however if you think about it in practice it would completely suck.
Reasons: 1) Small screen / field of view, which makes it harder to... 2) Accurately drop meds / whatever is dropped in NS2 compared to NS1 style, and... 3) Useless information is being displayed when the commander's screen space is too valuable to be wasted.
I'm sure there are more downsides, but you get the point.
realistic alternative I see to this is having 2 or 3 "screens" which you could rotate or spin through, which would each basically be a "separate" (but still CC) UI. Could be done by clicking a button on either side of the screen, or clicking and dragging into a slide, like with an iphone effect (although this is obviously a pain and not very efficient, just looks cool).
Still, most likely too much of a pain to be constantly switching between screens...

Useless idea, some seem to think it could enhance immersion? The same technology that brings the marine an INTEGRATED HUD ON HIS FACEBOX is the same technology that allows a commander to view his battlespace without relying on puny external screens.
here's a hint: starts with an 'N' ends with 'ANITES'
Wouldn't it be cool if multiple people could be in one CC... it can practically be a tactic for a last ditch effort to protect yourself... everyone hides in CC :)

Agreed.
It would also use use up too much precious time to have to move around to see all the screens.

1) Small screen / field of view, which makes it harder to...
2) Accurately drop meds / whatever is dropped in NS2 compared to NS1 style, and...

I wouldn't sacrifice the ease of a clean separate UI for immersion.
