<div class="IPBDescription">Already got my hopes up</div>I have a feeling that next fridays update will be alpha game release.. i just know it, look at the gameplay video sure some things are wrong like wonky animations and retarded looking sprints. Anyone else getting this feeling?

    I think next friday will see another editor update, and the alpha will be release during the week some time, not on friday (but that's just my feeling :P)

    last week one of the devs said they have no idea what is even going to be included in the Alpha, which seems to strongly imply that it isn't going to happen any time soon.

    Not even talking about the fact that you don't tease something that would be so close to release (see: the ModDb vid).

    The vid might mean that the alpha is close by but knowing a developer's mind, it really doesn't mean anything.

    Owned I think they said alpha "soon" 31 days ago so we should expect something. Next week? I have been thinking that every week since first screenshots refreshing this site like raged ape. I doubt that but who knows.

    April 16th sounds like a reasonable date for the alpha release, but I don't think we're going to be in alpha state for 3 months considering the recent in-game video (much worse could be passed as alpha).

    edit: Now that I think about it, if they keep focusing on the alpha and dedicate less time on the editor bugs/fixes (which is inevitable), late March would be a fairly conservative guess for alpha release.

    I wouldn't be surprised if alpha comes out relatively soon, if only to give community developers a chance to stand in and get a physical feel for what they've created. I for one would love to know how long it takes for the marine and skulk to run across a map room. That said, I still think we are at least a month off because the alpha must at least have an alpha version of all player types and structures. If the editor gives any indication, it shows that we still do not even have a model for the command chair or hive. That is a pretty clear indicator that the alpha is NOT on the verge of release.

    Then again, it has been mentioned alot on recent Twitters... oh why do you play with my emotions so? :D

    I think 2 1/2 months is a pretty short time to do all the balance work for the game, and I also think we're pretty close to seeing an alpha, even if it doesn't include all the alien or marine classes right away (still haven't seen lerk/fade reveals or the exo/jp-marine)

    My guess would be March 1 for the alpha release (if not sooner), and maybe June 1 for beta. That's 3 months + 5 months before full release on the 31st. (yes, I agree that they would shoot for that date as things stand now)

    of course these are just guesses and don't mean a thing

    Well, if the Saints can win the super bowl, maybe we can get an alpha!

    Before I incite a football riot, what I mean is a lot of people were rooting for the Saints for various reasons, but the general consensus was that the Colts would win, so maybe if enough of us pray REAAAAAL hard, then papa Flayra will entertain us with an alpha....or maybe a skulk racing map...

    I'm guessing the alpha won't be out till its polished, since lots of us got alpha excess and most of us are whiners that don't know the meaning of alpha. So UWE has no choice but to polish it and polish it until its at a "beta" stage and release it as an alpha.

    As for time frame, I think after the lerk and fade reveal, + one more marine structure/weapon reveal, then add a few weeks. Which should amount to 2 or 3 months.

    The calm before the storm no twitter updates in 6 days! Or maybe they are on holiday at the hawaii whichever I'm ready to get dissappointed this week aswell.

    I have to comment about the Fade and lerk though there has been no reveal so I find it hard to believe they have been implimented and adding them will delay this thing by months. Yet they were basing "soon" on something unless of course that was an additional "way" of getting pre-order money besides the pack promo.

    In short, we will be seeing alpha when god buddha or zeus decides to throw some lightnings into the developers.

    sure, but it would be silly to have the reveals AFTER we already get to play with them firsthand. Unless they don't plan on continuing the video series on alien classes, we will see them there before we see them in the alpha
