Spark Editor Handbook

I glanced around the forums but mostly noticed that there isn't a webbed Spark manual. Nothing fancy just things like creating a face on the X axis, no-snap sizing and other shortcut tricks that i see all these other mappers do. I don't like having to crawl the forums for tidbits of info.

    The solution? Wait for the developers to release some documentation, otherwise... "too bad so sad."

    Your post impresses me. You attack my post, repeat what I say, and then tell him to do what he specifically said he did not want to do... And the whole time you pretend like you helped him. Clever.

    EDIT: Apparently a certain word is censored, so I've snipped it for the sake of aesthetics.

    There's no documentation yet.

    Developers said they'll come up with something soon, but I wouldn't blame them if they didn't considering it's a pre-alpha and they have a game to work on. Basically, we don't have an editor yet, it's just a sneak peak.

    What one could do is an own handbook based on your Mapping technique and Tips and Stuff.

    If only there were a separate forum where we could organise things like this without it being lost on the second page...

    Crap posts just deleted. Why do you guys insist on being so damn hostile? There is a NS2 wiki (www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/), link at top of forums, that people can contribute to before the official documentation is released.

    Please remember, this is pre alpha software and tools, all the features aren't even fully developed yet.

    Holding alt will disable snapping with most tools. And yeah, the wiki could definitely use some love.

    Really? Point out in your post where you suggest he learns the binds the developers set or asking specific forum members how they did something (which doesn't require you to "sift through the forums" - use PM's.)

    Instead let's take a look at your post really quick:

    Hmm, yeah I totally see where you told him to do what I said. Can you sense the sarcasm? Can you?

    Well anyway thanks I didn't notice the key bindings part that should help alot. I know the developers are busy I figured this would more of quick tips from everyone whos been mapping and kinda keep everthing together until a manual comes out. I'm jeolous when I watch videos of mappers and there clicking and dragging boxes everywhere and there all on the right plane. When ever I draw a box it just draws it on the Y axis when I wanted the X axis, or vice versa.

    Maybe give extra attention to the arrows in the lower left corner of the perspective display...
    <img src="http://i49.tinypic.com/5vvjuv.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    ...to help ensure your going to affect the correct axis.

    rotate your view. once you hit a certain point, you start drawing on a different axis
