    There's a few posts floating around this forum in which a bunch of people have listed their build orders. Since I'm bored, I guess I'll post mine for the 5th time. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    My build really depends on the map, but this is what I use most of the time now:

    Portal, Turret Factory, 2x Sentry Turrets, Observatory in main base.

    After this, I send my guys out to secure some resources and a Hive.

    That should get you started and leave you enough to really make up your own build. It really gets a lot more detailed than that - much more specific builds can be found in other threads!

    Portal, TF, 2 turrets, obs,(armory,) send marines to resourcenozzles (1-2 stays in base), build and secure resource towers.

    Seek and secure one hive. Build arms lab, prototype lab..

    Remember: give welders to your marines.

    2 portals (depending on size of team) Turret factory, 3 turrsts (in a triangle with two in the front), armory, observatory.

    Next I send my team to secure a hive and a res nozzle. I set up in the hive and researce motion tracking as soon as I get two res sites up.

    Then I split my team into sections and have one of them keep pressure on the aliens while the other sets up at the only remaining hive.

    The key is to keep the enemy reacting to what you're doing instead of acting on you. It really helps if you have some experienced players leading squads. they'll show the noobies the ropes while keeping the marines advancing. You have to be agressive to win, otherwise the aliens will turret camp the whole freaking map.

    Portal - Armoury - Observatory -then i send out my men for a hive or 2 + resource later....... all that turret nosense is crap when marines are good enoughg at taking our skulks...especially when skulks dodge turrets very easily. Unless of course you are playing against very good skulks + playing with very bad marines that can't aim for jack **obscenity**.
    Observatory isn't needed yet but you might want it if your marines suck- can use the 15rp beacon to respawn your marines and hopefully save your base- If your keeping enough pressure on the aliens... then you wont need many defenses at Spawn- + If you do build defenses at Spawn...your gonna have to devote ALOT of resource there due to the fact you'l hace to put them around CC , and alot of other structures... don't get me wrong- I usually bld TF + 2 turrets but lately i have found it a waste of money- Skulks hardly even get hurt from them <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> ..if theyre a good skulk anyway.

    KILL THOSE SKULKS! <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> + <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> = <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Nope, I don't build an armory in my main base until after we secure a Hive. I always tell my troops that I'm going to do this ahead of time so they don't get mad. I do, however, set up an armory early at a forward location (such as the holoroom on ns_hera) - that way it gets your guys out faster to secure key locations.

    Once a hive is secured with turrets/teleporter as well as a few resource nozzles, i build an armory, observatory (get motion tracking) and then an arms lab in my main.

    Hmm.. I find that good Kharaa are also very aggressive - one gorge to build resource towers, the rest goes skulk and ... skulks. If you leave your base lightly defended, a skulk will find out , invite a few friends and have a party in your base.

    So, using a lightly defended base is betting the Kharaa is ... not very good. Which, as it happens, will win you 2 games out of 3 or more :-(
