But is it just ZOMG SAND AND FIGHTS AND STUFF AND SEXY CHICKS or will it actually be an interesting movie?

I usually have a bad feeling about games or books being made into a movie, but I must agree this one looks interesting. I hope they don't screw it up!

    I'm cautiously optimistic.

Jordan Mechner had most of his script written out. It's being directed by Jerry Bruckheimer. It may be a decent film, but it'll be ###### compared to the property behind it.

I think this looks quite promising. After all, its done by the same people who did pirates of the carribean so even if plot isn't good, it would look good. And the prince does look like the prince. And you have Ben Kingsley. Just have to see how they deliver.

Considering it's based on a game that is 80% awesome free-running platforming and 20% flipping off walls and cutting people up (it's clearly not based on the original, it is sands of time trilogy based), there's a worrying lack of fighting and free running in that trailer. Not saying there's none at all, but there should be more.

If it turns out that Casino Royale's opening sequence has more free running awesomeness than this film, I will personally hunt Bruckheimer down and beat him mercilessly with my copies of the prince of persia games. And then force him to play through them all.

Well I don't think people would watch 90+ minutes of somebody wall-walking and vaulting sand monsters...
A shame really, because it's awesomeness in game form.

But if you've seen Banlieue 13 (a movie starring David Belle, the guy who founded parkour), then the scenes with actual free running are awesome. The movie, not so much, but that's not the point.

In any case, David Belle is supervising the stunts for PoP, so...

I would watch 90+ minutes of someone running along a wall and stabbing monsters made of swords.

At least Michael Bay isn't directing. That would be horrible.

I think they should announce Uwe Boll is directing and then film the resulting nerd rage as a documentary.

    I'd watch that.
