That was a well-written article that had some nuanced analysis. I might pick this up now that it's been extended and I know about it. Does it have to be through paypal though? I hate paypal. :-/

Championship Manager 2010 did something very similar. They employed a minimum charge of £2.50 for transaction costs and the game for £0.01- Unlimited. Apparently it went down well for both consumer and Eidos.

its well worth a dollar, i dont think machinarium is worth 17 gbp though it's way way too short for that, it's barely a standard monkey island chapter long
