Being able to weld and barricade doors, ability for marines.

Think about it... The area is made out of steel or what ever metal they are using...

Why not give the ability to the marines to weld doors shut, only until they are destroyed by a onos or something (as seen in the trailer)

It would create teamwork also, because the marines would have to cover the marine welding. Seeing as it would take a while.

Maybe the aliens could also do the same with infestations covering the doors and denying access to them, so the marines would have to get a explosive charge to the door and destroy it.

It would make for a different map scenario each time, because the doors would end up being welded and the entire map would change because of it. So you wouldn't be playing the same old map each time.

What do you guys think? Some sorta fusion welder or something.

It was in the twitter a while ago. We don't know any details beyond:

They were looking at metal as a second resource(don't know if this was replaced by tech points or still is in the game)

Gorges were planned to have temp barricades and traps(subject to playtesting)

Marines can weld all doors(subject to playtesting)

DI deforms the landscape(map)*
